Not in Crawley
Went to the dentist last 15 years ago. Suppose I'd better sort that out.

I mean why do you have to pay for treatment at the Dentists yet hospital/Dr treatments are free A dentist doesn't give you a prescription you need to pay for after treatment So if you get one, you're not being treated for free
DirtySanchez
Also visiting the dentist for a check up is an on going thing, regardless if you have a sore tooth or not You generally don't go to the doctors or hospital unless it's a one off Folk could go years without going to the doctors, but if you want you're teeth checked regularly then you'll pay
Moderators Zico Posted September 21 Moderators Share Posted September 21 I was at an NHS dentist and got a reminder every six months or so and went I've not heard from them since COVID so not been Prior to that I think I went over 10 years, maybe even 15, without going Unless they hurt I don't see the point of going Clean, floss, mouthwash seems to work for me Touch wood
Site Supporter Spider Posted September 21 Site Supporter Share Posted September 21 That’s the other thing. You don’t go to the doctor every 6 months for a check up and there’s shitloads more they could be checking Yet for your peggies, we have this regular visit. is a bit weird

Wonder what the cost of fixing a broken bone is compared to the cost of fixing a broken tooth.
MancWanderer
I went private many moons ago with Cahill’s on Higher Bridge Street. Think it’s about £23/month now. Two check ups, two full cleans, one X-ray and an oral cancer check per year. Happy with that. No fucking about if I need an immediate appointment either. Teeth can be the root (ahem) of many problems if left unchecked so I’m happy to do it. Costs can be a bit high if work needs doing but hey ho. High on my priorities. I get it if it’s not high on other folk’s
Site Supporter Winchester White Posted September 21 Site Supporter Share Posted September 21 Our dentist used to be great then they got bought out by a big firm pushing private and cosmetic stuff. My eldest missed one appointment when he was ill (all four of us used to go at the same time so 3 of us still attended) then when it came round again 6 months later I had to cancel his again as he needed to resit an exam. They then struck him off NHS as I didn't give 48hrs notice despite telling them 2 days before, they did it to the minute. Cunts.

I get it if it’s not high on other folk’s I pay £24 a month to Denplan. Its insurance as much as anything in case something goes wrong because the bills can be horrendous. In the last 10 years I’ve not had anything other than check ups and cleanings.
Not in Crawley
Takes the same time to qualify, Dr or dentist. My mate who is a gp said the usual gag was it took them 5 years from toe to head, same for them to go from bottom jaw to top. The thing is dentists are specialists and they can spot other illnesses. The only way my dentist is spotting chlamydia is if she pipes me off whilst I’m on her chair. Which she’s welcome to do, by the way.

Big Will edited some out of Act II I think: OPHELIA: My lord, he hath importuned me with love In honourable fashion. Indeed, he hath oft attempted to bewitch me with kind words Then hath attempted to thumb his veiny manpipe twixt my arse cheeks, and rent my anus in twain with it. POLONIUS: Ay, fashion you may bell it; to go, to go. And do not neglect the bawbag

SatanGreavsie
Anyone had a full implant? I have to decide on one after snapping my upper front one out on a bread roll a few weeks ago. NHS one I'd been with for ages told me that as I'd not been for 5 years I was off their list (despite the fact I didn't know what the deal was with dentists during lockdown and its aftermath). So I went to a private one dead close to me. £3k later I've got a falsie, loads of nice fillings, sorted the other front one, ripped the root of the lost one out, and clean up etc. 3 fucking k. 3 more fucking k for a permanent implant - and the falsie is a pain. So is it worth it? I couldn't give a toss about the aesthetics, just the hassle.

Had implant couple of years back it’s expensive but well worth it especially to stop the plate I had whistling and popping out when I got excited. 🤣 Edited September 24 by Mounts Kipper
