Ah, that infamous commmuter route 😁

Farnworth, Moses Gate, Salford (2 stations) Manchester Victoria, Ashton U Lyne, Stalybridge. (It started in Southport)
Regular and reliable route that you Labour activists in Bromley wouldn’t have a fucking clue about.
Public transport isn’t just about work commuting. You socialist’s should know these things. I doubt it.

Just out of idle curiosity, I have just had a look at trains to Manchester from Horwich tonight.

of the next 3 , 2 are running late and 1 is cancelled.

In the last 12 months I’ve travelled by train, at all hours of the day, in the Uk, Czech Republic, Germany, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. The concept of a ‘flawless late night train service’ does not exist.
Where have you experienced this phenomenon?

If any business has to rely on overtime to provide it’s normal service it’s understaffed

Ban overtime. I always said this when I was a manager. I was accused of being a Tory by the unions and socialist by the management. True story. Strange world.

I was once asked to stay on a customer site in Scotland and work over a bank holiday weekend.

They only asked once

Overtime bans equate to further investment in the workforce. I’m not sure any Union wouldn’t want that.

It's a funny world and I have seen this also. However there a nuances depending on the sector and also circumstances.

Both are wrong and correct, it isn't one rule fits all.

I may not have spent as much time there as you, but Germany - particularly Cologne area - was fucking perfect.

Ive been about 8 times and unless I slept on the Hauptbahnhof without realising, I don’t think a train was ever more than a few minutes late. And they were very frequent.

Not been for 4 years, it may all have collapsed.

Also

i don’t recall a train to one of the major suburbs (similar in size to Bolton) having a last train at 11pm with 2 carriages.

Again. Things may have changed

It’s all relative. Did you travel at 11.30 pm? Travelling at different times and in different countries can give different perspectives. For me, there is little difference in services between countries I’ve travelled in. My caveat, as I’ve said previously, I don’t often travel peak time.

Yes, late on.

Even on a Tuesday night in October the trains and teams run into the small hours and are very reliable.

Ask any regular weekend train users between Manc and Bolton and you’ll be hard pressed to get a glowing review of the train services,

There's one that goes from Kirkby to Rochdale too or something stupid

Prefer getting the trains to Salford/Victoria than Oxford Rd/Picc/airport. Doubt you would be saying the same had you got one of those, always rammed!
