Who would have thought it

I heard from somebody on the sidelines what went on at morecambe that day and while vile, you wouldnt have made it stick in court

Hopefully theyve gone too far this time

Ps monkey was the word of that day

There was a guy in the EFL highlights on Saturday can’t remember the match making monkey gestures when the player scored he was on camera the idiot got arrested.

Gillingham fan directed it at a Newport player. He's also been banned for life.

Sadly the current fashion for players to run up to the other teams supporters when they score just winds up morons like this. Look what happened at the Wigan game a couple of years ago when they intentionally did the same. It’s no excuse of course but players themselves really ought to have more control over their actions.

If it outs people willing to do a monkey gesture at black players, I'm all for it

Blaming the target. If someone can't cope with their team conceding a goal and opposition players celebrating in front of them, they're a fucking moron and probably shouldn't be allowed out in public.

Fans give players shit for 90 minutes can hardly get upset if they wave after scoring.  Players should be better than that but they all do it.

At the Fleetwood when we got hammered and it rained non stop one of their players really went OTT , they had had little or no shit, (that was being aimed at our own players.)  He was basically offering fans into the car park afterwards, we were that shit people could not be bothered.

Dunno 2 way street for me. Acting a cock as you’ve the safety net of the pitch is no different than acting a cock if you think you have the safety net of being on the pitch.

Bit of a difference between acting a cock and making monkey gestures towards a black player.

All part of the "match day experience" for me. Bit of banter between players and opposing fans is fine. Monkey gestures simply aren't.

Although I do notice opposing players generally prefer to give it the biggun to the grandmothers and kids in WSL than those in ESL's TV corner 😆

I could understand it more back in the day as some of the abuse players got back then would result in an immediate ban these days.

You can’t say fuck all these days - posters everywhere in grounds etc about what number to message if you hear something offensive etc….

I’m not agreeing with  racist chants etc but football in the UK, just like society in general, has gone soft.

What is it you want to say that is no longer deemed acceptable?

IMO it is the role of the home supporter to make it as intimidating as possible for the away team.

In a few years time we’ll be applauding them off the pitch after they’ve beat us and waiting outside the away end to shake their supporters hands in congratulation.
