Them bringing 4k and it being a local match a side, of course this is a big match.

It could be pivotal come May. These will be up there punching for certain.

Last season faltered by not beating those above and around us.

And lets not forget these cunts will be bang up for it and so will their 4k fans.

Remember what happened last time e underestimated an occasion.

Its a huge game and massive change to put a proper marker down.

Bang on.

Some shocking takes on here at times

Promotion 6 pointer v a local rival who will be out in force ballooning all over gaff.

For division 3 it doesn't get much bigger.

But nah, its only 3 points and just another game.

It's never just another game.

Points are the same, but there's a reason they're bringing 4000- it's a local derby and it means that bit more.

You're one of the worst for it x

Nah pal think you’ve got it wrong here.

From what I can see there’s me, traf, captain med and casino who are only claiming it’s the bigger picture of points that’s more important and if 4 points comes from a win tomorrow and a draw Saturday then that keeps us on track.

I think you’re misinterpreting this as Saturday not being important.

Nonsense

At no point should this mean:

- Our poor derby record shouldn’t be acknowledged

- That Derby games aren’t important to us fans

- That we dismiss that this could maintain our great form

- We ignore our poor approach/performance in these games recently

- We ignore that this could kick-start a renaissance of good results against local rivals

- Which ultimately and most importantly means we are making great strides in putting some points difference between our rivals for promotion.

Win to keep pressure on at the top two

Win to put distance between us and the chasers

Win for a bit of local pride and bragging rights

Win to encourage young fans to follow us

Win to keep up player confidence

Win to maintain the winning habit

Win to prove that we're as good as some of us think we are

Win to give us a feel good weekend

COYWM!

Win so @Wanderlust can visit their forum and be a little bit smug as he hands out the platitudes.

Spot on.
Of course, the Blackpool game is huge, but it's not make or break for our season.

It's a no-win situation really, isn't it? We'll lose a certain number of games this season regardless.
If we lose to the teams near the top, the players get accused of not rising to the occasion.
If we lose to teams lower down, they get called out for complacency etc.

In a perfect world, we beat Shrewsbury & Blackpool this week, but 4pts is acceptable in the grand scheme of things.

The Blackpool game means far more to @gonzo than most purely because he's from there.
I'm originally from Farnworth, 45 miles from Blackpool, there are plenty of clubs closer than that.

As I said after the Carlisle game if we play the occasion more of these games we’ll be fine. Some games aren’t “just another” and if Evatt and the squad continue to believe that then our record in them will continue

the history is what drives this game more than the location but regardless of the reason the gaffer needs to be getting the players tuned in to it more than he has previously.

If any of them felt a small portion of how sick to fucking death we all are of walking out the ground and being spanked in them then there’s no team talk necessary

I’ve absolutely no doubt that with Evatt’s Blackpool history he’ll be just as much if not more committed and determined to win this one as any of the players are and I’m sure we will. Let’s be honest, Blackpool fans will be more worried about us than we of them as this is arguably their biggest away of the season so let’s use that to our advantage and send them back empty handed. I personally don’t think they’re that great so we may see them off easier than we think?

I think with Evatt playing for Blackpool, alongside the hiding we got earlier in the season, means there's very little chance of him allowing the team to treat it like "another game"... no matter if/how he downplays it in the press.

You could use that same sort of thinking regarding Wigan. They give him untold levels of personal abuse and he knows it. Hasn't really got us very far against them though.

Just try and win, no overhinking and no underestimating.
