Wasn't that Worthy?

Yep.

Did he ever actually heed the advice, or was he one of those who just likes to waste others' time, I wonder.

You know the type ;)

I wrote that without clarifying the subject , i have travelled a lot and enjoyed other countries and cultures. When global warming and co2 emissions became news worthy , because the travel experience got worse every year i decided to no longer holiday abroad .

i am not convinced that flying damages the world as much as some groups claim , it was almost unnerving sitting out during Covid when there were no planes flying. Did the fact that millions of tons of co2 werent released into the atmosphere have any effect on global temperature ?

I dont know ,but i would sooner holiday here , Northumberland and Scotland this year and last , but give me The Lakes , Yorkshire Dales , or Cotswolds anytime over cheap sunshine.

just a personal preference , not a criticism of anyone elses preference

There were satellite pictures showing co2 emissions during the pandemic. Quite remarkable when compared to normal.

Overall, I suppose it will have had a slight mitigating effect, but there's still a lot being put out.

A lot of work going into eco fuels for planes, and they've been trialled in military jets too. Whether they could be produced sufficiently to replace oil derived fuels I don't know. There is also a risk of monoculture type issues if planting to produce the fuel occurs.

Nothing is simple.

Anyway, still plenty to appreciate here.

In the grand scheme of things, how long were planes not flying for?

There was a documentary called global dimming showed that temperatures went up during Covid due to lack of contrails blocking sunlight.
