I think I'm in a minority where ticket pricing wouldn't really put me off going to an away game.

The amount of money away games cost, what's another tenner? A pint and a half?

I think there’s a mental barrier to a certain extent, but (possibly an unpopular opinion) it depends on how we’re doing at the time. £38 in the Championship at Leeds under Freedman is an unbearable thought, but I’d have no qualms paying to see an Evatt team in that position.

That's where I'm at. It's not really a price issue for me, it's what sort of enjoyment will I get out of it.

More often than not, I'm enjoying the football we currently try to play. Granted it doesn't always come off but the higher up the pyramid we end up, the better the quality of player we'd have

Throw in the mix rising travel costs and paying for youngster it soon adds up as you will know, I think I’d have to cut back on pre match activities to carry on which takes the enjoyment away

Some fans are in for a real shock if we go up, daft ko times for tv and one  of the most expensive leagues about for away tickets

I think folk will just pick and choose more. I know I find now being a shit fan much easier when it’s Monday 8pm in Portsmouth than I would have done many years ago.

luckily the tv coverage means it is easier to pick and choose.

i am quite fortunate as I have no responsibilities but seeing some of the costs my friends have to go through taking their kids it’s silly. Preston fan mate is doing all 92 with his lad. Reckon it’s gonna bankrupt him

Coventry paid £45 at Leeds last weekend

I wouldn't be paying that

So we've got 4 away games out of 5 between 20th Jan and 10th Feb; and 4 aways out of 5 between 24th Feb and 9th March.  If we're still on 2 points a game after that lot it will be some achievement.

Not many spare midweeks left now for BSM cup games.

Or the FA Cup 5th round

Aye I drove on sat had a pint and 2 drinks in hotel then a pint at half time plus hot dog, Maltesers. Chuck in parking and Im on £50 just for a standard home game without tickets.

Obviously all that's unavoidable but I driving in and out and no social bit is crap.

Soon mounts up.

Did it for years with mine as you know.

Before he was working, but drinking, a London distance away trip including travel, tickets, beer & food would cost me £300 day-trip and £400+ if overnight hotel.

I just wouldn’t pay it these days. It’s not VFM.

Thank God my second was a girl!!!!

Got stung at QPR away a few years back

Was a last minute decision to go  and ended up pay on the day where the ramped the price up to around £38 iirc

I usually think well I'll have one pint less but it never works like that

As an aside, Derby aren't happy Wigan are charging them £31 in a couple of weeks

Derby charged Wigan £20 in the reverse fixture so can understand their frustration, plus you're spending £31 to be in Wigan. bad news all round

I honestly find it quite amusing when football fans are fine at £25 a ticket, but not £35 when they're quite happy to spend £70+ on a train, £70 on ale and £40+ up their nose.

It's easy, don't fucking go and save yourself £200+, it's the other stuff costing you the real money, not the ticket for the 'reason you were going anyway'

The match ticket is often the cheapest part of your day out.

Who’s knocking beak out at £40? Mate was asking😂

Its time for me. I’ll not go back to following them up and down the country weekly again. Loved doing it but we supposedly evolve.

Makes the aways I do go on loads better as it’s not the norm. Loved Reading away oddly.

i dunno why my willingness to spend a fortune has waned a bit

i think its a combination of missing out on a cpl of tickets i wanted

thinking im getting too old for staggering in after a day out

trains being unreliable

availability of every game live
