Not been a good week considering Gonzos pal and then this. Sad stuff. Was weird as my old man was calling I thought for an update but I realise it was to check it wasn’t me. Bloody grim for the person who will have been chasing up that chap to see he was ok also

Had same scenario with my wife , daughter then sisters ringing to check i was ok , humbling.   There but for the grace of god eh .

My old man phoned me to make sure it wasn't me knowing I was close by.

I said the same thing to my son about @gonzo when it was happening.

Old man said he feels like the grim reaper coming out of the ground. Bit of gallows humour for a second or two to brighten an otherwise horrible moment.

Yeah what the hell was all that about. Mad how nobody moved either, all the usual sense of urgency gone.

Saw a bump outside scotts shortly after as well, 4×4 truck thing straight into the back of some old boys new motor. He was fucking raging and got out ready for a kick off untill he realised it was truck that hit him with a big gripper inside :)

Then there was some mad fucker whizzing about on an electric bike on the M61. Traffic slowed down then the police rammed him in on hard shoulder.

Feel like today has been a dream.

It's a full moon - always like this! 😁

No idea what went on with that fella. It sounded like a Cheltenham fan was pissing about and not letting the ambulance out - or was pratting about and getting in the way - but don't quote me on that - I could be massively wrong there.....

Came off M61 at Chequerbent and there were fire engines and ambulances, looked like someone had driven through a fence. Probably just another day at work for those in the emergency services, I suppose. Absolute utmost respect for all of them.

Hope he pulls through.

Sounds like the response was good in terms of him getting treatment very quickly. I wouldn’t be too harsh on the stadium medics as it’s a massive stand and can’t be easy to make split second decisions.

well done @kent_white for trying to intervene mate.

Bizarrely, the White Army chant as he was sent to hospital could well be something that helps. Stranger things have happened.

Fingers crossed.

Not a religious person but I’ve been praying for a few hours 😞

Wasn't there so can't comment on the reactions of medical staff and ref etc. But did watch on Ifollow and it seemed as soon as it became clear to those on the pitch something was wrong in the stands the game was stopped.

I imagine if you were there in the east lower it might have felt like ages to get the attention of those on the pitch though.

Hope the fan pulls through!

Im west and my eye was drawn to fans waving their arms

Hadnt got a clue why

It did seem a good while before help was despatched from the west

Evatt was looking for a response from behind him

It took a long time before everyone knew what was going on.

Thought something had happened on pitch, seemed to take ages to respond but that could be as everything seemed slow motion.

Photo in the mirror. A photographer catching the moment; but captured it at the exact point the chap in the centre, has his title partly obscured, reading as "owd dog".

Yeah, first I knew, Jack Iredale was waving frantically and it soon became apparent what was happening.

Hope everyone's efforts have the best outcome.

Appreciate the comments re the measured response as it seemed to take forever.

That's what I saw first.

A lot of Chinese Whispers going around during the incident & in the pub after.

I hope the Wanderer is OK.

Ultimately that's all that really matters.

Hopefully he pulls through & lesson's are learnt to improve in the future for all fans

Did you see someone get taken to the ground by the coppers just after the ambulance left? I couldn't figure out what was going on?

Was weird to hear everyone chanting 'white army' as the ambulance pulled away - but strangely poignant!

From what I saw he was being a selfish prick

Hope with all hope the bloke pulls through, and a game of football becomes irrelevant , respect to the medical staff from both clubs, and the Cheltenham fans that showed concern in the car park, there's nothing quite like the football family.

Watching a bloke in a lion costume trying to chivvy them up did add a certain pathos to the whole drama.  Bloke behind us was saying "they (medics) aren't allowed to run to the scene". No idea if that's true but it did seem unnecessarily slow.  Similar incident happened at Burton

They are NOT allowed to run , because one of them slipped and broke his arm.

Resulting in a compensation claim

I'd support that. Think contacting the Robins Report or someone like that (Cheltenham blog) might work?

Might be worth a shot!
