The only worry for me is Coleman. He’s 28 and only had 80+ appearances in his entire career, so he doesn’t have much match experience.

I doubt Baxter would have done much better yesterday in terms of the goals. Maybe he would have been a bit quicker playing it out, but that's about it. Goals usually happen in football matches, regardless of how good the keepers are. It's absolutely amazing to me that people can't handle it. It's horrible conceding, but screaming "YOU'RE FUCKING SHIT!" at your own player is beyond my comprehension, especially when we have no other options.

I’ve watched every minute of every game… he’s created not a lot.

Are you saying you can remember every minute, and what every player did?

It's perhaps natural that when we watch a player who hasn't whetted our appetite, we tend to look for mistakes and not notice the good things.

And vice versa, for players we favour.

I'm not the greatest fan of assists as a stat, but if we're looking at them, then here is our table.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/bolton-wanderers/top-scorers/assists

Nine assists/goals is the top- Sheehan from 34 games.

Maghoma is on 7 from 29.

Hardly bang average.

There were a few behind me in the East upper having a go at Coleman, like you say hard to fathom. He needs to build his confidence up and the fans getting on his case won’t help.

I’d also hope Gilks is doing 1 to 1 coaching.

It’s a horrible cross to defend, but a top keeper needs to be anticipating that nobody gets a touch and that he has to make the save in a split second. He neither covered the cross / shot nor the touch from their player. Just stood still. Rabbit in headlights.

Bod is the first player to score in consecutive games this season, excluding pens.

When it last happened can wait for another day (especially 2 in the same week).

Ashworth.

Literally 3 and 4 league games ago. (Carlisle/Barnsley)

And when you then complain that their was a cup game between :

Maghoma (Solihull/Shrewsbury)

Charles (Charlton/Solihull)

Charles (Burton/Boro)

We're in the 3rd division. And he didn't "stand still like a rabbit in the headlights". He anticipated someone would get a touch - either them or us (as happens 99 times out of 100). If he'd backed up to the far post and they got a tap in to an open goal, he'd have been even more vilified.

The link you posted don’t work. I checked on transfer market and he’s 1 assist against Fleetwood, that’s not good enough for a creative midfielder..  decent assist though.

It's because he put a full stop on the end of the link.

Bet you creamed your pants at his goal yesterday, like we all did.

Lovely goal… more of the same and a few assists and he will be above bog average…. Here’s hoping.

Surely you know you can't judge a player on stats alone? Especially not 'Assists'. It takes a lot more than 1 pass to create a goal.

I judge him on his all round game, his goal return is good even though couple of them been goal keeping mistakes, his assists not even close to average and his work rate, tackling and overall impact on the game leave a lot to be desired. He’s shown an improved work rate recently and looked briefly like he was going to catch fire yesterday, he’s definitely improving but he needs to.

Ok, for the avoidance of doubt, the best keepers in the third tier. IMO, Baxter saves that.

He didn’t anticipate anything. He didn’t move. He stood where he was and waited to see what would happen. His main contribution was to appeal for offside (which clearly it wasn’t).

I disagree. Never mind. On to the next one.

Correct.

Had a great view and I just expected Ladapo (?), to head it easily.

It must be tiresome to review every goal we concede to determine who is to blame

Do folk ever do it when we score? Watch over and over to determine if the opposition were at fault?

Probably not

Thinking about it

Can whoever does that opposition forum review include an extra section where we find out which of theirs are being blamed for our goals?

Yeah but we don’t seem to attack the ball defensively like some others do.

Portsmouth, Plymouth last year,  Barnsley smash it away, including anyone who gets in the way.

Most of our defenders are a soft touch for all their footballing qualities.

I don't think that's the case.

Some may not be the biggest/strongest but that doesn't mean a soft touch.

The required style of play means you don't necessarily see them booting it away-perhaps on occasions doing so may help- but that's what is required of them.
