I doubt Baxter would have done much better yesterday in terms of the goals. Maybe he would have been a bit quicker playing it out, but that's about it. Goals usually happen in football matches, regardless of how good the keepers are. It's absolutely amazing to me that people can't handle it. It's horrible conceding, but screaming "YOU'RE FUCKING SHIT!" at your own player is beyond my comprehension, especially when we have no other options.

Why don't you just have a word with the fan who's shouting that? All the stuff I was hearing about him where I sit was just annoyance to speed it up when passing out from the back, so I'd be surprised if that was a widespread comment

Ashworth.

Literally 3 and 4 league games ago. (Carlisle/Barnsley)

And when you then complain that their was a cup game between :

Maghoma (Solihull/Shrewsbury)

Charles (Charlton/Solihull)

Charles (Burton/Boro)

Yes my mistake, forgot about Ashworth's two, thanks for the correction.

My research team have been told to up their game.

I was only counting league games BTW, if we counted cup games in stats we wouldn't be able to say Bod's rubbish when he starts and lacks fitness 😀

Some absolute moon man esque comments on here.

Evatt should go: I'm assuming that's the alcohol, we get rid of him the way things are, we may as well shut shop. 3rd in the league ffs. Plymouth are a juggernaut that isn't being stopped. Potentially 4 teams that could still hit 100 points with 15 to go (early morning so may have worked that out wrong).

Coleman: Baxter is ace, goalkeepers are rarely injured, so we have a backup that will hardly play. Trying to find a keeper who's happy to sit on the sidelines knowing he's there incase shit happens is a rarity. We don't pay silly money, so can't have a "Scott carson" type. And he's a much safer pair of hands than last season.

The combination of having 4 defenders out,(one carrying am injury) a keeper and the most grueling run of games I can remember is taking its toll.

Churn these out and still be 2nd/3rd and then sprint one the players get their recovery rest.

And if we miss promotion, its really not the end of the world, because we'll go up when we're ready.

the issue we have is that these moonmen of whom you speak wouldve sacked him after his first couple of months

so until he gets sacked people just point at them and laugh

when he finally does go, then they can say 'i told you so'

sad, but true

But for COVID, his position would probably have been untenable by Christmas/New Year in each of his first two seasons.

Imagine the atmosphere when we went 3-0 down at home to Port Vale :D

I don't particularly subscribe to this idea that fans would have driven him out

If Sharon wanted to sack him, she'd have sacked him

As demonstrated by the backing he got in the January

Great idea. I'll leave the people who sit around us to look after my 11 year old while I go and have a scrap with a pissed up balloon who doesn't have 2 brain cells to rub together.

That budget looks like a living within your means budget. Us and Pompey would be similar in terms of attendance and I don't think given recent history, either club would live beyond their means. Derby obviously have a recent record of pushing that boundary.

Theres loads of reasons to be sceptical about published wage bills

Say Baxter is on 5k, ive no idea, and say we pay him 200k signing on fee, how do you show that?

Splitting hairs but we didn't go 3-0 down (Jones pulled one back at 2-1).  But 6-1 after an hour would have been interesting 😀

We didn't even have a bad line up that day - not one of the "non league" players from earlier in the season and plenty who's normal level is/was league one, Gilks in goal when we were more solid!  One of the strangest games I've seen, thank god we weren't present.

So there’s no shoe string budget if that table is correct

Be careful

@woolli needs you to be clear about what budget you’re talking about.

He said we have the biggest transfer budget the other day. He was wrong, like, but that didn’t stop him saying it.

If the numbers above are to be believed, we have the 3rd biggest wage budget. Add that to us having the 3rd biggest transfer budget and being in 3rd in the table, it looks like we’re on par.

Derby are playing a dangerous game however they do get 7k more home fans so revenue wise

I thought under their new owner it was a promotion at all costs approach. Especially when they sacked their manager, who is now doing a good job at Hull, after about ten games and they were just outside the play offs

Brought in the league one promotion expert in Warne, which obviously hasn't worked so far. Be interesting if they don't go up as to what they do next

wheres that from @gonzo

fwiw, i always take this stuff with a pinch of salt, for multiple reasons

According to my Derby supporting mate who went to one of those breakfast meetings you get

Their wages are 40% of their turnover, which they claim is the lowest in the league

I find that hard to believe

We’ve got on par Ian Evatt

He know exactly what we need (to spend)

Sensible at the back

Economical in attack

Bolton’s gonna finish 3rd in the league.

Hopefully hear the correct version tomorrow
