Is this true? We have c.16k season ticket holders, and an average home attendance of c.19k, from a town of 200k residents, within a borough of 300k. This is in the third tier of English football.

Get to fuck

They both gave as good as they got in a great physical battle

Hindsight, santos drops off and says beat me but hes not used to meeting his match

Who gave the free header for the first at theirs?

Yeh there were passages of play santos won the duel then Yengi won others. He’s wrapped up the majority of strikers at this level so would expect he’s learnt his lesson for sat

Thomasson let him go then he got across JDB too IIRC?

Iirc Thomason lost his marker and Bod was supposed to mark the zone he scored from

He had the measure of santos that night

Missing in attendance I know but did you watch it?

To be fair to both, there were more blocks than a lego shop in that box! Something we have to be mindful of tomorrow. Again.

Thomason getting an early booking at FP didn’t help either

Also never seen a player commit as many fouls as Yengi without getting booked. 11 freekicks against him IIRC. He might not get away with as much away from home, but these refs are so shit

Yep, in the game at Portsmouth, we were the better team but Pompey flew into us with Santos & Sheehan being especially targetted & not given a second to play.......but Yengi should have been booked for his persistant fouling which would have made a difference.

To be fair to Bod he’s not gonna see / anticipate a blind side run right across him as he probably thought any runner would be tracked by the man picking up. It’s not as though GT was late to react and followed him. He stood their rooted with hands on his head.

Been like that during many games this season; then after being mauled all over pitch we get the first yellow

Yengi bullied Santos - the only striker I've seen all season who physically dominated him.

Did he fuck.

It was a great battle between the two of them where, unusually, Santos didn't have it all his own way.

Yengi certainly didn't bully Santos though.

Think we’ll see a different santos tomorrow. He’s been docile at best for a few weeks now but always seems to put in a commanding performance when he’s questioned. Yengi only played at their place as Bishop was out so maybe came across as a bit of an unknown quantity to Rico. He’ll know all about him for tomorrow

Not entirely sure we'll see Santos at all tomorrow.

Training didn't go to plan today, apparently.

This is apparently how they are going to beat us tomorrow....

Oh no!! What terrible news that is definitely 100% true! Please don't tell Portsmouth! 🤫

Him and Geoff Thomas were in Monteraze before the match.

In the days before selfies, I got a pen and paper from behind the bar. Went up to them and said 'autograph'

Sure replies De Wolf. I signed the paper twice, split it in half and gave them 1 each

Superb 😀 bet they were well impressed

Neither would I but wouldn’t it be Taylor replacing Rico rather than moving Toal? Either way I’d be ok with that but if Toal is moved and Gethin’s fit wouldn’t he come back in?

Not Taylor for me; but don’t care as long as we win

Has he aggravated an injury or is it a spat?

Whilst I love to see Paris try to beat players and create an extra man for us in congested areas, this may not be the game for him, and there is a case for Demps starting

To return to the Dempsey/Maghoma debate, I believe your full post makes a better case for Maghoma over Dempsey. In a game where both teams are renowned for high possession passing games, which may cancel each other out, someone with individual flair might be the key to break this stalemate.

I’m amazed Maghoma v Dempsey is a debate

I’m not. That they offer something different, is clear to most people. In the round, this might suggest a 50:50 call dependent on tactics and/or opposition. However, it’s my belief that both Maghoma and Thomason are more effective on the left, with Dempsey at his best on the right.

Maghoma or Thomason is an equally valid debate, for me.
