Peterborough v Oxford 2nd leg

Recommended Posts

Oxford have been great defensively over the 2 legs. They're a far different proposition now than the team we hammered on Sky a while back.

I'm just hopeful that they have less firepower than Posh and will cause our creaky defence less problems.

Yep, I think they’re less open than Posh and will be a lot harder to break down than last time.

Play our natural game, be patient, and we should beat them.

There were some intimating that Ferguson was taking a well calculated gamble and that Evatt should have followed suit, choosing not to play your strongest side in the run in.

Well, well done Ferguson you changed your side against Cheltenham, lost all your momentum and didn’t win any of your last 4 games.

Not gonna tempt fate or under value a finalist but it's likely going to be a final very similar to tonight in terms of Oxford having to defend for large periods and they defended really well but still Peterborough had enough chances to win comfortably (in between Oxford players going down all time)

This is a great point. I'm all for rotation of 2/3 players per game to keep things fresh and give the squad opportunities, but wholesale changes when they could have technically gone up was nuts. Felt like they were sacrificing a win that game against Cheltenham and serves them right getting knocked out by a more committed team

Seen this over and over again in games for decades. Can break your rhythm and backfire on you and seems to be the outcome more often than not. Not in favour.

Hope so mate, you making the trip?

Gutted as leaving Oz for the CDS a couple of days later. I'll be there in spirit though. I would have much preferred automatic!

When I make the trip to Wembley, we always seem to lose. Might be better if I watch it from afar!

I reckon Ferguson put out a weakened team against Cheltenham because he thought there was more chance they would play Barnsley in the semis, who were bang out of form at the time.

Well that backfired, you walrus faced fucker.

Darren Ferguson's post-match interview was amusing

The one on Sky? Just watched it, and there was nothing of note.

Oxford did the job they needed to tonight, imagine they will be a different prospect in the final.

Could say exactly the same about us.

I've learned that gobby cunts from pissant football clubs who have never, ever achieved anything of note are best ignored.

Cellar dweller inferiority complex.  I'll bet Sigmund Freud never mentioned that.

You think? He was moaning about not getting a penalty for the ball hitting an Oxford player in the face, bemoaning a  lack of luck and generally tripping folk up with his bottom lip.
