No, I remember at the time wanting Robinson to get a chance instead of the pedestrian Taylor, I'm fairly sure Boro was his first start, he was hung out to dry against Traore and then dropped IIRC. God knows how Taylor would have coped with Traore 😬

Underpants
Not got the bug for the Euros yet. At this stage I would be counting down the days to the first game and mapping out my itinerary around all the group games. Not even got a wall chart up!

I think you're right, but it begs the question "why bother"? Conning fans out of expensive ticket money, for a half-hearted performance in a practice game. No atmosphere, booing at the end, nervous players etc. Daft really and it's just added a load of pressure.

Even more so when you consider that your best remaining central defender picked up 'a knock'. Southgate out.
Arrested development
Iceland game was flat but they created enough chances to win Realistically England will get teams that sit back in the group stages, play on the counter and make it difficult. But they'll get out of the group and they won't knocked out by a team sitting deep. If/when they get knocked out it'll be by a decent team in the later rounds exposing the weak defence. Hungary dicked us in the Nations League meetings. Good thing they have to play Scotland instead.
