Site Supporter desperado Posted June 26 Site Supporter Share Posted June 26 So we can potentially get to the final with: last 16: Slovakia Quarters: Italy Semi: Austria Austria form team in that last round of games.
Wanderlust
So it's decided: England v Slovakia Winners play winners of Italy v Switzerland in quarters Probably Austria or the Dutch in the semis Absolute bunfight in the other half of the draw. Couldn't have asked for an easier path to the final.
Didledee
It's all set up very nicely and the Slovakia game could be a good game to get some confidence back into the team, but I'll not be confident given how crap we've been, Iceland 2016 could easily happen again, atm at least we're not allowing great chances happen v Pickford, 1 goal conceded which was a 1 in 100 or so strike, the only positive really to cling onto and the fact we have players like Palmer, Mainoo and Gordon who may spark us if given more game time. Greg_BWFC
Better to be lucky than good, eh ? Honestly, you couldn't really have drawn this up any better for us. Didn't see us beating the Dutch. Still need to buck our ideas up though.
Marc505
Draw has opened up nicely for us to get out thought and out fought by someone we completely underestimate again 👍

And actually as things stand we’ll play Slovakia not Holland! Although I suspect Portugal will get at least one back. Methinks you are wrong if we are talking about recent times. Italy used to be bad up to two decades ago but have cleaned up their game significantly. Mainly Uruguay and the Argies in South America. I watch a lot of world football. I would place Portugal at the top of the pile for 'simulation', 'cheating' - whatever you want to call it. Especially after a good tourno. Reckon osimhen goes this summer as they’ll cash in on one. Hope both stay.
tomski
The way the draw has opened up for us is great. A little bit of me fears it’s de ja vu and feels like having 3 games in hand, 1 point of top. That said. This is a different team and manager. Looking forward to Sunday. Hopefully smash em
