Will Switzerland play with all 11 behind the ball? If so then we need Toney up top so that we're not relying on sneaking a pass through a wall of players we can use the big hoof up to a big forward and work from there. That was the biggest change once Toney came on that we had a target the other side of the barricade we could aim for.

This is the rumoured line up.

I can't see it but we live in hope.

Watkins over Toney all day. Just had the best season of his life and has more pace which we’re crying out for

Watkins pace is only any good if there's space behind the defenders for him to exploit if the Swiss camp deep he's less useless than Kane.

I would not oppose this

How brilliant would it be to see this. Kane would perform better next to Tony imo & Rice & Bellingham could keep it tight in midfield whilst going forward.

Ain’t gonna happen though.

A manager who only makes 2 subs after 93 minutes whilst 1 down to Slovakia does not make these kinds of changes.

Loved to be proven wrong but I think Southgate might be naive enough to think his system works & this comeback can get it going again.

Not for me.

Toney assisted both the other day, and has a bit of physicality and aerial strength to give centre halves a bit more to think about.

Reckon he may still be feeling a touch aggrieved too, and could be well up for it.

Can't see it myself. If they've been studying videos of England games I suspect that they'll be fancying their chances if they go and attack.

I don't think Walker is as strong as he used to be, and some questions have certainly been asked of the defence at times.

Fortunately, they've generally stood firm.

Saka at LWB ffs?

Is this a serious post?

It makes perfect sense.

He's played there before and is currently our only fit wide left footed option and we have so far looked woefully imbalanced and narrow.

This formation is what I've been wanting since pre-tournament, makes the most sense with the makeup of this squad, especially in games where we dominate possession.

Played there before, earlier in his England career.

Would give better balance, and he's not provided loads of width down the right, so why not?

The set up ought to be fluid enough for players to swap around and cover for each other too.

It's not ideal ... but needs must and he's left footed for a start, something that has seriously fucked us over so far.

What we do know is what Southgate and the players have done in the games so far has meant they aren't playing anywhere near to their potential.

Something needs to change.

Guehi assisted the Bellingham overhead kick. I don’t mind Toney but Watkins has had an incredible season whereas Toney was out half a year for his ban.

Apparently we’re playing with Foden and Bellingham behind Kane anyway in at 3-4-2-1.

hopefully that means Trent rwb and Saka over trippier at LWB

He's a clever player as well, Toney.

Can't wait for Dan to turn into him.

   Walker stones Konsa

Trent Rice Mainoo Saka

Someone needs to tell Kane if he drops deep at any point he loses a finger.

Basically playing 3 number 10s upfront there if he carries on.

If anything and it shouldn’t it could give him more licence as he’ll think there’s people around him that can go beyond.

whereas he should be told in no uncertain terms to keep his fucking nose out and stay up there

How does he play at Bayern?

Given he banged in a shit load is he playing alongside someone or dropping back?

He’s always dropped back hasn’t he. And he has musiala going past him then a couple of decent wide men like Gnabry and Sane

No idea as I haven't watched it

Just wondering how he goes from scoring so many to looking like a bloke who could hardly hit a barn door
