If he's learned anything, it should be to keep Toal on the right.

Either Johnston or Iredale on the left.

Definitely.  When (if) all 7 CBs are fit there will be at least 2 not even in the squad.  Jones and Iredale can cover wingback as well as CB so probably Forrester and Forino the favourites to miss out (but it will be a while before IE has that problem).

I still reckon one or two will be leaving, and if one was a centre half, it wouldn't surprise me.

Having taken it around the keeper, as it said, I can only assume he was a bit wide or had little time, hence an attempted back heel.

He's bagged some though pre season so fair play to him.

I hope he scores 20 league goals.  But Dempsey scored 2 goals in 15 minutes against WBA last pre-season, then got 3 in the whole season.  Morley 2 in pre-season v WBA and Salford, then 1 from open play in the season.  Pre-season v Bradford 5 different strikers scored, including Dan and CJ.  It doesn't mean a jot when the real stuff starts against teams in the same league as us.

I know.... Just think in a front 3 Vic could actually be quite useful at holding the ball up and then getting into the box for tap ins from the wide men.

Maybe I'm reading too much into pre season though and he's still bobbins.

Worth a go anyway if we're still easing Dion back

Both of us panicking Evatt will still find a right footer to put at LCB somehow 😂

Went today to tick Vale Park off as I've never been before for whatever reason.

Solid performance but don't know if it was us looking good or Vale looking tosh. Apart from the first 5 minutes of the second half, we were pretty comfortable. Couple of hairy moments first half when we were passing it out from the back but we've become used to that at this point. 

Considering he's only been in the country 48 hours and trained with us once, Schon looked good on his debut. Energetic, got forward and wanted to attack a few times. Put in a big tackle in the first few minutes too which I hope was an example of him showing what he is about. 

1st goal was lovely build up from what I can remember - everything Evatt wants from us. 2nd, absolute cock up at the back from them which Vic did his best to miss. 3rd, great ball through from Lolos(?) to put Dion through and a composed finish - more of the Dion we're used to. 

The two centre-mids worries me a little bit. Feel like it gives us vulnerability to getting overran in the centre but we'll see how it goes next weekend.

Pretty sure Toal is a left footer. He was into Gaelic football as a kid, played for "Derry" and with a name like Eoin....probably supports the Hoops.
