meanderson93
Not sure I've seen anyone else mention this in a thread yet. No doubt it'll get the odd cringe worthy moment, but I will say fair play to Evatt for putting himself in an environment like this alongside Allardyce as well. There'll be a few there I'm sure that will want to use this as an opportunity to voice their displeasure at the way the season ended. https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/sam-allardyce-join-ian-evatt-exclusive-charity-qa-night

No one will of course, but personally I would like to see him squirm, just a tadge, after the fuck up last year. He's made of stern stuff, he tells us every other week, so sure be water of a duck's back. Edited June 14 by JimmyRiddle
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 14 Site Supporter Share Posted June 14 Struggling with the concept of a "charity event" there. If folk want to express their concerns, they could write to the club, or voice them in the different forms of media, not hijack an event such as this. There is also no "contract" that says a manager has to stand there and take shit. The article says he will be discussing the future etc, and no doubt will answer some questions, but if folk can't show some respect, rather than trying to make a manager squirm, then perhaps they'd be better off staying at home. There would be nothing better for the club to get a reputation that the fans make it uncomftable for the management. Will really aid us next time we need a new mon in charge. And encourage them to do future charity events.

Possibly depending on his answers and if he has managed to stop looking clueless and actually understood why we fucked up at Wembley, but people blowing smoke up his arse certainly won't. You lot would go on Question Time and give the politicians platitudes with your logic, the Idea is you ask challenging questions not what their favourite spaghetti is!! And regardless calling someone for potentially asking a question and utter utter bell end is what I don't agree with. I am held to account in my profession from both my employer l, and the users of the services we provide, why should Evatt be immune. Typical of this board to pile on someone whose point of view you disagree with, rather than articulate an opposite view. One man's shit is another's accountability. It is possible to ask challenging questions in a respectful way, they are not mutually exclusive. However, I will concede that the charity element may make it inappropriate on the night, just not sure what other forums normal fans get with the manager to ask direct questions. Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 14 Site Supporter Share Posted June 14 Why is it now a "thing" whereby fans have to be able to ask direct questions to a manager? Of course it isn't mutually exclusive to ask challenging questions respectfully, but you did say to make him squirm a bit. That just sounds like wanting a pound of flesh. Which achieves nothing, and just becomes antagonistic.

Won't be going myself, but if I did, it would simply be to listen to stories etc and have a good time. Not to harangue the manager.

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 14 Site Supporter Share Posted June 14 Does it matter if he managed to achieve such dizzy heights? Players seemed to like and appreciate him too. Evatt sometimes regarded as a bit arrogant, and hasn't yet achieved that level of success.
