Evatt and Big Sam Q&A

It's a shame for Big Sam for me. He will go out wondering what he could and should have been rather than happy what he was.

Should be loved by all Bolton fans (is by myself) the fact it’s a bit of a mixed bag tells a story though.

Sadly, greed got the better of him and only has himself to blame.

He shit on us by being dishonest about his departure and his ego/greed blew the England job.

Really good night in the end that, held in good spirits as well. Evatt, as always to be fair to him, spoke well and came across far more humbled than I've seen or heard him before.

Met him a couple of times and at a q&a and he was always like you say well spoken and very down to earth

Sam, for all his perceived faults, was good value for a few laughs even if he had clearly had a few G&Ts by the end!

Questions were asked from the audience but on queue cards so nothing to cringe or unnecessarily critical obviously.

Got mine answered, wrote about how they've both been criticised (unfairly in my eyes at times) for their styles of play and how that's affected them both. Sam's answer actually genuinely made me a bit emotional for a moment, he spoke at length how he regretted letting the media paint him as a long ball manager and how he's felt that at times limited him either from roles or his staff as well from getting jobs they may have deserved and he wished he'd have done more at the time to rectify that perception of him and his team. Genuinely seemed quite regretful about it all.

All in all, good evening and decent value all in really, good engagement again from the club to open up for these sorts of things.

Evatt mentioned as well this is his biggest budget he's had access to since being here and they're looking at the European market, 7 figure bids being banded about with multiple teams

Your last paragraph was that meaning we have bids in for players for 7 figures?   If so then that would be nice,  the cash is obviously coming in somewhere (might shut a few up for a while)

That's what Evatt said, mentioned multiple options in Europe and bids in of 7 figures, I don't know though if they were for those European players or if that was two separate points he was making.

Training ground comment is very interesting! Wonder who they could be

Reckon I could name 3.

Be unfair to do so and entirely speculative mind. Don't want any tarring with brushes :)

Aye, imagine most people's guesses would be fairly similar! This is surely directly related to deciding to increase his backroom staff.
