He'll be 38 in November 😀

Definitely at the age when, if he has a bad game, everyone says "he's past it".

I was actually thinking we should go for him, and dismissed it as thought he was past it 😄

Could have been the old head in the squad we need though

Cracking option to have for nowt Mcgoldrick. Should have been in for him.

He could certainly do the "Jerome" role (and more), but hard to say without knowing who we bring in instead.  In the short term the bar is low, we just need somebody relatively proven for the first few games, but SS and Fergal will understandably be looking at it long term so I'll let them get on with it.

Call it now, will look the best player on the pitch when we play against him.

Always thought he was a good player.

Another veteran gone to a "rival" - Nakhi Wells to Luton.  A mere 35.

They've also signed Rotherham's player of the season who's been with them 4 years.  I thought I'd have at least heard his name but a new one to me - Hakeem Odoffin - ??

This lot over here are confident.

Good manager, strong signings, Ennis back.

Avoided the injury plagued Dalby 😖🤔

I had a look at their forum the other day. When Dalby was linked with them, he was going to be a great signing but then everybody remembered they didn't rate him as soon as he signed for us.  Ennis was the same situation in reverse. Lots on there saying they weren't bothered if they missed out when it looked likely, soon changed to him being the 2nd Aguero when he signed.

It's what pre season does to all of us!

Definitely some good, experienced veterans signed by our competition in McGoldrick, Wells and Mullins, any of whom could have done a job here. None of them will probably last the 90 but could still be lethal coming on for 20 or 30 minutes near the end of games. Let’s hope our new defenders can stand up to them?

Fair to say they probably won't last 90 minutes (how many strikers do?) but Wells and Mullins won't have signed to not start games, especially Wells dropping to L1, I'd expect him to be a main striker for Luton.  McGoldrick was starting most games last season so he'll think he's fit enough to start, no doubt his game time will be "managed" but they won't have many better strikers.

Koroma signed for Orient after agreeing deal and terms to go to Barnsley ?

Luton rumoured to want him to.  3 year deal at Orient may not have been offered elsewhere, and he used to play for Orient.  Good player for L1, I could never get my head round Hudds appearing to replace him with Charles.

I thought we might have gone for him?

Maybe, but presumably we'll be aiming for someone better and/or a player that fits our style better.

We won't know fully till 1st Sep

Barnsley seem to be in a bit of a pickle. Their fans were giving it licks to Huddersfield as well.

Don’t think Barnsley will be as strong this season .

They weren't strong last season. Just our lot made them look like Brazil.
