WBA mate reckons he's highly rated and expected him to feature a lot more for them last season but was kept out by by more experienced new signings

I quite liked the look of him, although agree that you can’t judge him one way or the other from his spell with us.

One thing’s for sure though, we don’t need any more centre backs (as it stands)!

I'd be amazed if he plays many games for WBA, if he does I'll assume they aren't going to be serious contenders and that's no disrespect to him, but IMO we've got at least 3 better centre backs in L1.

That’s a bold statement. I’m not sure how he can be judged either way.

Fair enough we didn't see much of him, but things like pace and strength are fairly clear after a couple of appearances, and maybe to a lesser extent heading and passing etc.  I could be totally wrong, but I'd take Santos, Toal and Johnstone before him if I was picking a team to start most games for us in L1.

He’s comfortable on the ball and isn’t frightened to move forward with the ball, unlike some of the others.

Underused last season imo.

Assuming he's not going to play on the left (hopefully) its a big call to say he'd be one of the 2 right footed players when we also have Santos, Toal and Forino, not to mention Jones.

He might get more minutes overall but I'd bet he won't get picked to start a league game at CB until we have a couple of key injuries (which probably won't take long to be fair!).

Personally I think jones is a poor CB much better competing with Cogley, toal  got off lightly at times but chipped in with a few goals so papered over but I see know reason why he can’t get a place Forrester

Forrester can cover left and right, but if Toal, Santos and Johnston somehow remain fit, I don't see him cementing a regular spot

He's ahead of Jones and Iredale for backup though (imo)

We all have our opinions and we all chat about who'd we like to see in certain positions.  But IEs opinion is the only one that counts and there's no reason to suggest Jones would go from being one of the 1st names on the teamsheet (and vice captain) to being behind Forrester who was basically last name on the teamsheet.  If IE rated him he wouldn't have signed a young unproven CB (Caleb Taylor) to jump ahead of him in the pecking order when fit, and now Forino will block his path as you'd assume he's not signed to be 5th or 6th choice CB.

Why spend 200-300k on Forrester then? Personally he’s part of the plans and I wouldn’t rule out captain fantastic going

i think forrester (and jones and santos  )was injured when taylor was signed

but, i agree with you, evatt rates jones and nobody else offers as much as him at rcb in the opposition half, which is a big part of the role

Agreed Jones is our best CB in terms of attacking.  I like Forrester but he's not going to be bombing down the right supporting the attack like Jones can.  I couldn't say who's better defensively, probably not much in it but IE will pick up on stuff I wouldn't notice like positioning etc.

Yes we did have a lot of injuries when Taylor signed so it made sense to bring someone in, but IIRC when both were available it was Taylor that started with WF on the bench (probably due to extra height especially if Santos wasn't playing).

Transfer fee doesn't mean much when you think of Dan, and to a lesser extent Vic, mistakes happen (I'm not saying Forrester was a mistake, far from it, but IE might be thinking he's got better to pick from).

Obviously if Santos goes, everyone goes up a notch in the pecking order but WF would still have to get past one of Jones and Toal assuming Forino would take the middle spot and JOHNSTON the left.
