Transfers - Other L1 teams

Interesting to see who some of our "rivals" are signing - so let's have a separate thread to keep the other one for BW chat.

To kick off, Charlton replaced May with Godden from Coventry, looks an excellent signing for this level, 50 goals in 156 games.

Brum partnering May with Juke potentially - Jutkiewicz signed a 1 year deal.  Will be good to see him play here again, one of my favourite strikers of recent times.

And Dan Udoh who looked a handful for Shrewsbury at our place a few months ago has signed for Wycombe.

Bollocks to the other teams. Can end up creating a sense of doom around yourself.  SS has our back, and that's all we can expect now. Fuck Wigan, fuck Stockport, fuck em all. Look

Brum & Rotherham will sort the top 2 spots Then around 10 teams going for play offs (thats my prediction on current transfer activity) people say we need only tweaks yes if the standard

Word is that we're in the market for a striker and should be signing one before we play you on Sunday.

You're always in the hunt for a striker and seem to attract plenty.

Offering wages comparable with 2 (or more) divisions higher in the pyramid might have something to do with it.

Who is Big Dan?

But we need to get one who has pace. Parky loves a target man though.

One of ours.

Not too effective.

He does. Gary Madine was the target man during Parkys reign here and the football was dull but effective.

Matt(?) Smith at Wednesday was the link I saw. He's a typical Parky type striker so I can see that happening.

Birmingham continue to splash the cash.  Lyndon Dykes from QPR now, another big signing for this league.

He is terrible though!

Although maybe Birmingham are just splashing the cash to beef up the squad. In which case they look every bit favourites

Does FFP matter in the EFL?

Just based on wage spend as a % of turnover in L1.

May have been Derby in for Vic!

Barnsley signing Stephen Humphrys. Nailed on to score against us this season

No, as far as I can tell, L1 and L2 have a different system called scmp.

But scmp appears more to do with wages rather than transfer fees…

Championship have their own rules too called Profit and Sustainability.

Not league one, but Billy Gilmour seems to have gone to Napoli.

Thought he'd done well recently, in Brighton's good start.

So to put this league 1 into perspective for alm the rest of us,   Birmingham spent 35 million and signed 18 players this summer  !       Wow

Plymouth have sold Ryan Hardie to Wrexham, blimey.

Huddersfield signed 6 now, Murray Wallace from Millwall the latest.

No choice, he had a relegation release clause of 700k and they’re offering 25k/wk.

We will lose couple more this week on similar contracts, with upside that clears spaces for Cleverly to shape his own squad.

Big loss for you that though genie, he was a stalwart who could always come up with “that goal” when it counted. Hard to replace but have you any replacements in mind?

We were linked with Saydee who looks like going to Wigan but preseason looks like will be struggle for 5a side.
