Rivington is heaving with them. Obviously it’s nice that they’re thriving, but they need plenty of space and as they breed they move more into urban areas. Then you end up getting DEAD on the roads. There’s too many badgers as well, but you need a letter off the king to kill them.
Whitestar
Mate of mine hit one years ago in a capri near Teesside airport, wrecked the front nearside and he couldn't get it out as one of its legs was jammed in the suspension. He rang the police to ask if he needed to report the accidental killing of a deer, they had no idea and just said " Errr, donno mate, don't think so"
Not in Crawley
Dad's allotment off Moss Bank Way gets loads of problems with them eating all the veg. I don't remember seeing many of them when I was a kid though.
Ani
They come over in the dinghies but no one mentions them because of Bambi, if they were Wolves everyone would be up in arms. It is typical of the double standards in modern society.  Everyone hates Wolves at least.
Site Supporter Cheese Posted July 30 Site Supporter Share Posted July 30 Saw a couple up Anglezarke a few weeks back. Been going there since I was a nipper, and that was the first time I've ever seen any round there.

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 30 Site Supporter Share Posted July 30 Loads of them round here. Graze on the fields, browse trees and occasionally come into folks' gardens. One of the dogs legged it last week as two bounced across the track in front of us. They crossed the stream and ended up at the bottom of the gardens barking out their alarm call. Dog came back pretty quickly thankfully.

London Wanderer
Far too many. Just like sheep. Problem is we’re not even eating them. It’s a beautiful meat & land owners can receive subsidies up here to cull them. Not that it touches the sides though. I try to get some every couple of weeks, drives me mad when you see venison from New Zealand on a supermarket shelf. Tree saplings have got no chance. Time to bring back the wolves to keep the grazers on the move & regenerate some native woodland. Great to see the beavers & lynx being reintroduced.  If anyone’s ever travelling up this neck of the woods then this is a fantastic area to explore. Deer numbers have been managed to ensure native plants can thrive. Well worth a visit.  https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/cairngorms/glen-feshie.shtml Don’t let the establishment brainwash you with movies like Bambi lads. Rant over 🙂  Edited July 30 by London Wanderer
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 30 Site Supporter Share Posted July 30 It's expensive, whether it's harvested from the wild or not. Perhaps also has the wrong image and folk are reluctant to eat Bambi. Â
