Think there's only John Aldridge who comes close to James McClean in the pantomime villain stakes.

God I hated that fucker as a yoof.

Proper had one over on us.

Can't think of many more hated so much by an entire fan base who revelled in it as much as those two.

They give/gave as good as they got thats for certain.

Any more we had proper needle with?

It may only have been one game, but I’ve never seen anything like the performance from Savage in the 2-2 game against Leicester. Subbed off for his own sake, the players and crowd after blood.

The mere sight of Dioufy would have some folk's blood boiling.

Remember Walking to the car after a VIlla away and one of their gormless fans having a meltdown screeching about wanting to kill him. Don't think he did owt midly contentious in that game either

McGinlay (and Lofty 🤣) fulfilled this role perfectly when playing Wolves.

I can confirm that this is still ongoing

The pantomime villains are so use to the abuse they use it to their advantage. McClean will be deaf to it but he knows it will be there. I'm certainly not going to go purple in the face for him. I'll leave that pointless exercise to the Greggs looters brigade.

Going a long way back but ex Manc Johnny Aston, playing for Luton, riled us up, plus scored an undeserved winner in a cup game. He got pelters for years after that.

In fact, while he's on my mind ... "Booooooo Aston. Booooooo. Fck off, you fecking Manc reject. Booooo !"

That's better.

Agrees. Warhurst and Holdsworth sent off 4 minutes apart trying to Criple Savage. I think Savgae tried to cripple Hendry after 30 seconds which should of been a straight red. Savage brought off staright after Holdsworths red card for his own protection, our players would of carried on getting sent off and crowd had turned big time on Savage. I think Mickey Adams said after the game he had to take him off after him and Allardyce exchanged some words. If I remember correctly both Adams and Allardyce were wired up to Heart monitors for an ITV documentry about premier league managers and the stress during a game. They couldn't of chose a better game. I rememebr Ricketts scoring with the last second of the game and everyone going ballistic. Great match, except for Savage and Mike Riley who depised us anyway.

Remember in the mid 70s when we seemed to play Fulham nearly every week?, they had a goalkeeper called Mellor, possibly peter or Paul??.

Dunno what he had done to upset us as i was only young , but i remember Burnden rocking to the chants of " Mellor is a W***er" all game.

Played for them for years that lad.

Dennis wise had a fair bit at the league   Cup game. Sure he had a fight with a taxi driver or something like that and taxi for wanker was a big chant.

He took it very well, dare I say he quite enjoyed it.

Other one who was ‘good bants’ was that Stephen Bywater for Burton.

Crystal Palace had a keeper called John Jackson. I remember him at Burnden and he got “ who’s the keeper with the big fat arse Jackson, Jackson. Who’s the keeper with the big fat arse, Jackson is his name  “.

A really rousing rendition from the Lever End.

I was going to mention Wood - always got grief for crippling Reid. Ball used to get cries of "hello Alan" ringing round in the highest pitch voice anyone could manage.

Vinny Jones played the panto villain at Burnden (league cup?) but it was genuine banter and mutual round of applause at the end.

John Fashanu conducting the many road north terrace to "Vinny Jones is a wanker.."

Right on the touchline whilst someone received treatment.

Cant think of too many that havent been mentioned. The lad who did Andy Walker forget his name.

Chris Malkin - Made Crouch look like Ivan Drago.

And Colin Bastard Cooper to use his full name.
