Stig Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 I'm struggling with this. Evatt is not bigger than the club, yet the board are acting like we exist to serve him. He's been part of our recovery but it's time to move on. All the buzz about the place will disappear, whole place will be flat as a pancake on Saturday, and fans will start drifting away (still included in the attendance officially for this season). Quote

Bloke is just trying to save his job and probably still believes he can turn this around. He's pulled it back before, albeit nowhere near as bad as this. Quote
Ani Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 You know when Evatt said on Saturday that the fans are contributing to negative atmosphere that is engulfing the club he had been reading some of the comments on here and other Social Media ? Quote

The way round that is put him on garden leave like they did with Megson run is contract down at some point he knows that a manager can’t be out of the game to long before he gets forgotten about then a compromise rip the contract up Quote

Factors in that will have included cost of replacement, availability of replacement, time that needed to be bought to source a replacement, Evatt's proposal to turn it around, knowledge of and relationship with the players and a whole bunch of other stuff. What was said between them will remain a secret but they won't have taken the decision lightly, will have done a full analysis and it wouldn't surprise me if there was a timeframe in which to achieve targets. desperado Posted September 16, 2024 Author Posted September 16, 2024 Without reacting to or creating more hysteria, there seems to be some horrific decision making going on throughout the club. Think I would have preferred a tub-thumping (but very shallow) we’re all in this together, rather than all this scapegoating nonsense. We are surely just delaying the inevitable now. Quote
