Big risk from the board to back him, but I expected it. Could easily leave us way short of any sort of promotion push. He’ll likely do enough to show improvements, as always it will be short of where we want to be. Same old cycle.

Rubbish. Say what you want about Big Sam but he was always able to adapt his tactics effectively and sometimes midway through a game. He didn’t stick rigidly to a formation that stopped working 6 months ago.  Under him we were adaptable and players knew their job.

Allardyce is saying word for word what a few of us have been saying since the Oxford fiasco and what a few of us worked out going back to last October the Wigan Carlisle defeats at home.

While we can come on here and say roughly what we want as long as it is football related and not personal because i doubt Evatt or any of the board take any notice of a football forum. What people like Allardyce says WILL get picked up on and discussed internally.  Evatt needs a win today or it will just pick up momentum with each loss until he or the board breaks.

We are picking the right team at exactly the right time to play.....No Excuses win or walk for me

Of course he could adapt mid game - he had the luxury of a quality squad for most occasions with highly experienced players who knew several roles. Evatt also tries to adapt formation and tactics mid-game if you hadn't actually noticed - it's just that he doesn't have the luxury of being able to ask the likes of CL winner Campo to step into midfield or Anelka to play more narrow.

And I will say want I want about Fat Sam.

In this case he is again once again massaging his own ego in the media at the expense of BWFC. If he gave a shit about us, he'd perhaps try to do something constructive to help without trying to get paid for it.

Seems to conveniently forget that this club made him when there's media money to be had.

Sometimes it takes adversity and unrest to bring out the real characters, show some grit, doesn't matter how we start, 0-0, scrappy 1-0, it's a line. A starting point. Start to build again. We have it within us. The fans have the passion, we just need to stick with the "team".

Exactly - Allardyce is just trotting out what everybody already knows. But because it's him that's saying it, the words will have no function other than to stir up further discontent among the supporters and armchair managers which is no help whatsoever to Evatt, the team or the club.

I don't think I've seen anything but like for like subs from Evatt unless we're 3 down and his head's gone.

You seem to forget allardyce didn't inherit anelka and Campo. He took over a team suffering a hangover from Watford (similar to this season). He then turned us round and got us into the play offs on a late charge. Despite that not ending in promotion he didn't spend the summer feeling sorry for himself in a black cloud. He built a team of solid professionals in his second season after having to sell the two best players (Gudjohnsen and Jensen).

That season he was getting a tune out of Ian Marshall and Bo Hansen at times up front

At this stage I don't see any future in this manager, so anything that gets him out the door quickest is help, whereas pretending beating an awful side is progress most definitely hurts the club overall.

I remember it well. All the REALLY big names came when ED started throwing big money at it. But it was a quality team SA inherited from Colin Todd - a team that was unjustly relegated from the Premiership on goal difference just two seasons before (I'm talking about the goal against Everton). Allardyce inherited Eidur Gudjonssen, Per Frandsen, Dean Holdsworth, Jensen, Gudni Bergsson, Feeeeeesh, Mike Whitlow and Ricardo Gardner amongst others from him FFS.

We were absolutely expecting promotion when Allardyce came and even though his early recruitment wasn't as inspiring as say Bruce Rioch, he delivered the expected promotion. Our excellent scouting and recruiting network was still in place at that time. The only reason Todd left was our slow start to the season versus our massive expectations and I still believe he would have got us promoted (again) that year anyway but he was gone by September.

All of which is vastly different to what Evatt inherited  - remember THAT squad???? - and the budget he has worked with to build the club back up from the edge of non-league.. IMO SA has no right to shoot his mouth off about a situation he has no experience of - parroting things that were already discussed months before - and undermining our team and manager at a difficult time. The fucker should be helping, not hindering.
