But outsiders looking in and taking into context our league home form prior to Exeter from Jan 2024, (don’t think we’d lost and won a big chunk of them) then you can see why we’d be made favourites. I've mentioned that we hadn't lost at home in 2024 a few times, and we've seen some cracking games here and plenty goals. Jan to April at home was as entertaining as any period I can recall. But I'm surprised how poor our home form now looks. In league and cup, ONE win in 8. And the win was against relegated Port Vale. So on this occasion the bookies definitely got their odds wrong. I'm not complaining, had a treble on Huddersfield, Burnley and City to win (3 teams that could all win the league) and got a ridiculous 20/1 (Burnley 9/2 at Leeds beggars belief). Quote
gonzo Posted September 15, 2024 Author Posted September 15, 2024 Keep seeing this system change thing. Our problems are way past that. Beyond repair. Quote

I agree, don't even think he has it in him to completely rip it up it would go against his whole idea of playing. Side point but I really can't be doing with it when I see people saying club is a mess or all the pride has gone like I see on twitter. Fucking hell, the number of times in last 4 years where we've said "we've got our club back", some of them great victories and experiences, multiple last minute winners etc, shouldn't be forgotten. We've has some great times, now it's gone stale and we need a change, hardly warrants people going on like we're in crisis though. Quote

Wullie Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 It isn't the system per se, it is really down to the decisions Evatt makes (or doesn't) during the match. The playoff final was really the final straw in a season where we were all shaking our heads after some matches. Whilst I don't expect us to win every match, from feb we got 30 out of a possible 60 points (which I know has been mentioned in another thread), and then the playoff wasn't just flat, we again didn't adapt to how Oxford set up against us, and then allowed them for 90+ minutes to continue to play a non-complicated (pretty basic pressing structure) system against us. I'm grateful to Evatt, but this start to the season had its beginning in February. We need to change now, the whole place needs a lift. As much as I am not a fan of Allardyce, he would lift the team as all is not lost at the moment.....but the clock is ticking Quote

I get what you mean about a lift, imagine the attention it would get as well if he did. Tbh was going to say FV seem like they want to make modern progressive football decisions so would probably go for some young up and coming manger to start another "project", but not sure if FV are making the decisions now 😃 Quote

Members Lt. Aldo Raine Posted September 15, 2024 Members Posted September 15, 2024 Wagner's probably more likely than it seems He's the right sort, is familiar with people within the club, and is out of work so presumably wouldn't require us paying compensation His last three jobs have ended in failure, though Quote
