I think/hope today that i see a new dawn and a complete change in the way we set up/play.

Even Evatt wont have Baxter playing it short to Santos and Sheehan today.  I can see Williams coming in for the ineffective Schon......Starting both Sheehan and  Matete in a three man midfield alongside Thomason. Charles and Mcatee starting and Collins dropping down to the bench. Also Johnston wants reinstating to the left with Toal moving to the right

3-1  Charles 2 Mcatee  21,406

I can't see it mate. I think they're so ingrained in this formation that it would be more risky to make wholesale changes than to just stick with it and pick up a win doing what we know.

I'm not saying that's the right approach - but I just can't see IE doing anything else?

Aye Easter weekend for that burnley game . Me and me sister as Juves had to go in seperate turnstiles to me dad which meant we couldnt sit together in the Burnden Stand as the bricks bottles coins et al went flying back and forth . Over 10 k on which meant opening another section of terracing for the away fans.  At 16 I was loving the drama . Me younger sister spent the whole time perplexed as to why people kept throwing bananas on the pitch.

Had the game on Roadrunner vhs, now sold after converting to DVD.

The football was atrocious with Steve Elliott up front , Andy May being the only highlight and that after years of hssssssss anytime the ball went near the spikes on the fences , the crowd missed it when it finally happened.

Bloody hell I forgot about the ssssssssss.  I went to games at other grounds that had the spikes around the pitch and I never heard any other fans doing that.  The crowd v Burnley was more than double most games, equivalent today would be about 40k turning up.

Evatt leaving things the same for me is suicide, first pass to Santos or Sheehan from Baxter will have the boos ringing out.

We cannot win playing like we did this time last year can people not see that we have  teams playing the high press

We played these last season Baxter would knock it to Sheehan who would turn and send it wide and start our attacks.

He does that today a man will be at his ankles trying to force the error.

Please tell me you can see that

It's not thinking. It's a deeply emotional commitment at this point which can not be challenged by facts or logic. Changing tactics would hurt who he believes himself to be. Sadly he's managing his ego, not the club.

I reckon Thomason will go up another level and I'm his biggest fan. Feel like he'll relish wearing the armband.

Aye  I think the same. He's one of the few of our lot who has a bit about them.

I will obviously retract this when he gets sent off today 🤣

It’s going 1 of 2 ways this. Early goal for us and I think / hope it unleashes all the stress and negativity and there’s a proper backlash - 4:0 whites.

Go 1-0 down, or even a nervy 0-0 at half time and I don’t think it ends well as the nerves just get bigger and bigger.
