Well I enjoyed that.

MOM was between Vic and GT for me, GT thoroughly deserved the captain role and he thrived with it today. Still worrying is the amount of chances other teams are creating, we can get away with it when we bag 5 however I wonā€™t let that ruin my night. Shit to see the Evatt out banner in the NSL, hopefully they got told. There would have been ā€œfansā€ in there today desperate for us to lose, well unlucky you knobs! And to all those staying away until Evatt has gone, good. The club doesnā€™t need those typesĀ

One other thing about Vic is that he actually looks he gives a fcuk. He's well invested.

They did. The banner was right behind us but I didn't see it, just heard some bloke ranting and everyone turning round. I had no idea what had happened then saw the pic. Looks like we're supporting it we're so close to it ffs!Ā

Way better from the off today.

Plenty of aggression, especially 1st half.

Though Vic was excellent, along with GJ.

Gave Reading a bit of encouragement in the 2nd half but they aren't as bad as some thought and at 4-1 had to have a go.

Beer will taste better tonight šŸ˜€

1 negative really and itā€™s Santos. He looked pedestrian, got caught on the ball a few times, picked up a yellow cause he was too slow and just generally looks like half the player he can be. Now heā€™s not captain I think heā€™s easier to drop and on his current form I think Forino should be given a shot.

Couldnā€™t agree more. Even more disgraceful was his behaviour at the end of the match. As the rest of the players set off on their clap of the fans around the pitch, he ignored everyone and walked straight down the tunnel on his own.

Time for Forino, I think. The other thing Iā€™d do would be to give Matheson the remaining squad place and replace Cogley.

Iā€™m neither for him or against him at the moment, so Iā€™m certainly not his cheerleaderā€¦ he put about 5 tackles in in the first 15 minutes that were decent so id say your comment on his tackling ability is slightly harsh

5 tackles in 5 matches! not bad eh? But then again, i dont expect many tackles from a winger, Peter Thompson, Willy Morgan, etc. As previously stated, hes a winger, not his fault what Evatt expects of him. Hes shows commitment, hes just to lightweight.

I can't buy in to optimism. It's great that we've registered a win and ended the barren run of goalless league games but in the grander scheme this proves nothing. We have stood accused for two years or more of being flat track bullies. Today was a pretty flat track. Last week told us far, far more.Ā

Defensively we look very concerning. Since conceding once in the first two games its been 2-2-4-2. That ain't getting us nowhere.Ā

I'm sure I'm not on my own in saying this does not give Mr Evatt a clean slate. Far from it. There has to be "more to come" as he's fond of saying. A lot more.

A few things I saw today

Johnston was MOM.

He links well with Schon

I donā€™t understand Arfield. If he was brought in as a wise old head, Iā€™ve missed it.

Ā

Ā

Johnston MOM by a country mile , outstanding performance . The new lads will definitely come good and Id be happy with collins & Macatee as our front 2 long term .

Agree about Arfield , dont see what he brings yet . All hoping for another Kieren Lee .Ā

I agree with a lot on here defence looking dodgy at times could be bit of nerves after last week we looked better going forward more balls into the box good movement from Dion today, early recovery days yet see how we are after 5 more games but plenty of effort today hopefully we keep it upĀ

Take your point Paul, but Huddersfield got twatted at home today.

As decent as they may have been last week, we were shite.

Evatt still has plenty to prove, but today was a small step towards that.

If the players perform to where we know they can, and show that level of commitment, then performances and confidence should return.

Clearly, results against big teams will need to be achieved, but at least tonight, we can praise them all, and enjoy the evening.Ā

Iā€™ll never understand the wanting us to lose. Canā€™t stand Evatt but I want Bolton to win every match we playĀ

If your a Bolton fan, you can never, ever, want us to lose, whatever the circumstances!

Hopefully he starts vic ahead of Charles who currently doesnā€™t deserve a start.Ā

Fuck do I know šŸ˜† pleased for him, hopefully he kicks on now.Ā

Game management first part of 2nd half a bit questionable. Would love us to be more attuned with the dark arts but Ā pleased with the attitude and intensity today.

Thomason and Johnston excellent.Ā
