Popular Post gonzo
I've seen people on social media wanting to boycot this fixture or get the Evatt out banners going. What a bunch of absolute shithouses are support can be at times. We've lost a few games ffs. Get a fucking grip the lot of you. Other clubs fans pull them out of bad times. We have fans who just can't wait to twist the knife and make the situation worse. This isn't even adversity. It's just a dodgy start to the season. Dramatic, hysterical bunch of melodramatic tarts honestly. Why the fuck do we bother.

Mantra
Fuck it, do what Arsenal do, start with 4 Centre Backs as a back 4 to fix our leaky defence. Use that as the foundation. (White, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber) ≠ (Forino, Santos, Toal, Johnston) Defence fixed ✅ Let the wingbacks become wingers to free them up. Got a defensive player behind them, let them push up and give us real attacking width without thinking, "shit I need to cover the winger". Attacking width gained ✅ Try Dempsey and Thomason as a partnership, they both have a bit of bite to their game. Let them screen the defence together, Thomo can ping it long, Dempsey can carry it/play simple passes. Gives our midfield some more mettle ✅ Get 2 up top, or one attacking midfielder and one striker. As long as one drops deep and links play, the other runs in behind. So a combination of Charles (runner) and Collins (link up). Or Vic (hold up) and McAtee (late runs in behind). Score some fuckin goals ✅ (sorry I'm bored and writing imaginary team lineups is the only thing that will get me excited about Saturday)

I am usually with you on this sort of stuff and still am when it comes to wankers with bedsheets etc. The issue for me here is in watching the interviews, I am seeing a broken man for whom I can see no redemption. I can only see the situation getting worse now they've decided that he stays on. I hope he proves me completely wrong for the sake of our club. He needs time away from football for his own health. I think we all saw that in the immediate aftermath of the drubbing - but he's since had a chat with the board and the outcome is that he stays for now. Obviously don't know what happened in the meeting but it could be that they put an arm round him and told him they have confidence in him and not to worry about the negative comments and/or that with the benefit of hindsight he realised that he could actually find a solution and that he does know what to do. Whatever happened, it seems like he is back in the saddle, so he isn't quite broken yet and presumably believes there is a chance of redemption. I think the vulnerability he showed after the game is a measure of how much he cares about the club, how disappointed he was and how much he wants us to start playing better again. And maybe in the cold light of day he's learnt a lesson and will come up with a different approach. All we can do at this point is hope that he does find redemption by making the team competitive again.

My kids won't want to go either. But I'll be there and so will my kids. You enjoy your day watching Soccer Saturday 👍 We are Bolton Wanderers fans not bloody Ian Evatt fans and we will all be here a lot longer than any manager or set players. Just when I thought we had our core support back on track, this week have reminded me what a bunch of fickle, dramatic and faux outraged set of soft arses we have amongst our fanbase. It's actually embarrassing and exactly what I've been fearing all summer. Nobody wants whats going on, everyone probably thinks it's time for change. The results are terrible and the performances worse. But is boycotting or waving bedsheets about the way out of it? Or we better cracking on and supporting our club through thick and thin, digging deep and keeping our heads held high knowing we did all we could? Our fans have been absolutely superb over Evatts tenure. Let's not spoil it now.

Totally agree Bolts. But you want to see some of the waffle elsewhere. We've got folk boycotting, some wanting Evatt out banners in the hotel, some have sent their season tickets back. Pathetic. They are too deep-rooted to let a blokes arrogance of playing football a certain way stop them from going. If it’s not that then some folk have either been waiting for some kind of fall out because they have better things to do or have become bedwetters. Our fans have been absolutely superb over Evatts tenure. Let's not spoil it now. I said it during the summer but this is exactly the risk we took keeping Evatt on too long. Results stay as the were last season, the fans have had enough and it turns toxic. As you say "noone wants what's going on and probably thinks it's time for change." So the board should be moving him on. We're not going there to watch Ian Evatt, yet the insistence on the board keeping him means he's the entire focus of the day. It's massively frustrating when I'm taking my kids there to watch Bolton and want to see some good football in an upbeat stadium. He's our of ideas, and been overtaken by more adaptable managers, and needs to go so we can get some positivity about the place. I want to enjoy taking my kids to the Reebok to watch Bolton, not Evatt.

bwfc4ife
The problem here is clearly social media because in reality, he hasn't had any real abuse in the stadium. There were not constant boo's or abuse against Exeter nor against Huddersfield. Everyone was chanting his name at the beginning of the Huddersfield game and to be fair the chants of 'getting sacked in the morning' were mainly from the away support. I honestly think he must be sat at home lurking on sites like this and the facebook group and then getting offended by what he's reading. This must be the dark cloud he speaks of. It's exactly the same up and down the country for every club, get a fucking grip. The key is to focus on the job and pay no attention to it, the online world is not the same as the real world and there are enough bell ends online looking for aggro. Seems all a bit soft to me. I'm a manager at work and some of my lads think I'm a knob but hey-ho it's tough shit, we all have to get on with our jobs. Fans are entitled to an opinion and despite only being 5 games in, these issues go much further back beyond the terrible ending to last season. The form has been horrendous for a long time. I think it's clear that something needs to change if we still want to achieve our objective for this season and the constant messaging coming from Evatt squarely pointing the finger at everyone and sundry without actually recognising that he might be a part of the problem is frankly desperate. It's all a little too late now, i think he's lost what little support he had left and it's only a matter of time before he gets the chop. I just hope the new man hits the ground running and that we are not too far away to turn this around and challenge for the play offs once again. That's the risk the board are willing to take. I just hope the season doesn't turn to mediocrity and we're left in the wilderness yet again because they didn't have the balls to deal with the problem at the appropriate time. Ani
I understand people want Evatt gone, I do. But the 'sack the board' mentality is just fucked in the head. I said on here last week there are some who want us to lose to prove a point and they are crawling out of the woodwork now. Gonzo has quoted a guy who would not be happy if we got promoted and had good cup runs. If people do not want to go that is up to them, but calling for a boycott ? If we sack Evatt there will be applicants lined up and others ready to apply. Lose the Board and fuck knows who comes along and does an Anderson. Rizlar
The. Board have made the decision to keep him nothing we can do boycotts etc that’s up to the individual but I don’t see what that achieves but he looks a beaten man run out of ideas let’s see Saturday if he changes anything and if the players have any fight in them COYWM. I wonder how the likes of Big Sam and Rioch would have handled it all.
