matty2094 Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Only just realised that it’s a half 12 kick off after playing Arsenal away midweek. Very quick turnaround. Does that alter team selection for the cup game or do we go full strength? I think they probably all deserve a chance to go up against one of the country’s big boys but it can’t go costing us against Crawley. Heart says win, head says draw. Quote
Moderators Casino Posted September 21, 2024 Moderators Posted September 21, 2024 I think we win Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Full strength for both, particularly as you’d assume the team will stay down there for the duration. A positive performance on Wednesday and a win on Saturday and I think folk will be largely back on board. Quote
Rival Son Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 In your opinion. In my opinion, both games matter. A good cup performance can give confidence, promote players and the club, and raise a few quid. Quote
radcliffe white Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Still not feeling it enough to go, happy to watch on tele hope those go get rewarded Quote
tomski Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Must win. Another positive of yesterday was the results in the division. Hopefully a few more odd weeks and we can be back in the sniff, if we deliver our bit. Quote
marple whites Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Sack the cup game, all in for this. 7-00 train from Stockport Quote

I do think Brum & Huddersfield will be the 2 to catch though . Anyway, IN, staying darn sarf after Arsenal, & Crawley is the one that matters. Quote

I know it is not a real option, but I would take 3 points on Saturday ahead of a win Weds by a country mile. Quote

Arrested development Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 (edited) I'd expect Collins and Mcatee to start against Arsenal. Forino too. Edited September 23, 2024 by Arrested development Quote

VividDreamer Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 Strong feeling we win this comfortably. 0-3 Quote
boltonboris Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 I think we’ll lose this. Regardless of form, I think it’s the kind of game we’d lose anyway. Long distance after a Wednesday night game against a top side. got defeat written all over it in my opinion. I’m presuming we’ll be staying over for a few nights to help with the travel issues? Quote

Dr. Feelgood Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 How does this operate for the team ? Playing in Islington till nearly 10pm on Wednesday night, noon kick-off on Saturday, near Gatwick. Recognising the two teams will have quite a few changes, do they return home, to go back down 24hrs later or stay South ? Quote
