Thought Crawley were garbage, did think a Hungarian international would impress in the 3rd Division.Don't get why this match was available on my Sky box but the match at Orient wasn't.

He had a 30-yard run at goal last season (at home, no idea against who). Dispossessed a defender, ran straight up the middle and slotted it home.

Think it was the only goal of the game.

Just checked - home game against cheltenham.

Not saying he's Pele, but can be capable when given the chance.

I think your memory is playing tricks!  Nice finish though.  Looking at highlights, lucky to win this one:

Big Vic fails to impress me; He will sometimes hold it up well with his back to goal. And I know he had the shot in the 1st half. But, he can't head it, run forward with it or tackle. Very limited in what he offers, tires defenders out maybe?

I dread to think what he would do in a 30yard clear run on goal? He is so eager to get rid because he surely knows he is so limited. Poles apart from the attacking skills of Charles, Collins and mcatee.

Last week Big Vic was probably MOTM, fair to say this week he was nt. But if we keep scoring 5 at home and 2 with clean sets away pretty sure we can cope with MOTM being shared around.

Fair enough. A broken clock is right twice a day. Oh and another thing he has no pace. You know how it is when you don't rate a player?

Yeah after a win and two better performances you just have to get online and make sure everybody knows you think he's shit.

Yeah sorry about that. Im also cognisant that its 3rd div football, so tough to compare with strikers that we've witnessed in the glory years. On YouTube he looks like Jimmy Floyd too!

I don’t live there, but it is better than most parts of Bolton

I agree 100%

Had an interview for a teaching job there once. Didn’t get it. The feedback I got was that the interview panel thought I was, and I quote, a ‘bit crude’.

 The cheeky twats.

You know like for like substituting is for the 70th minute Athy. Not just willy nilly tinkering.

Just my thoughts that I think Collins can strike a good partnership with Dion, given the chance

Very good result, but the most encouraging thing is we're showing a bit of fight finally. Not the soft pushovers we have been for the last couple of years.

Only one game mind, need to keep this kind of win at all costs mentality going.

Yes. Feet need to be kept on the ground. Not out of the woods yet.

Old cliche but a correct one. One game at a time - don't be looking any further ahead than the next one.

He wasn’t great but his physicality is always causing league one defenders problems, even if bang average like today he occupies one if not 2 of the centre half’s…. I said he should be first name on team sheet after his preseason, he offers something no one else does.

Not sure where you're coming from, but I've mis-remembered plenty of goals from our games, I couldn't recall the Cheltenham winner so posted it, good finish from Vic, not a worldy but tidy, nothing to be wrong or right about is there?

Selwyn Jones? If it was you must have very very crude

A bit of fight and Santos apparently running the line are good signs but the question should be have we learnt anything from it.

To me it looked like we had already learned something from the Arsenal game - a team that exposed our defensive weaknesses to the extent that they were obvious to a blind man.

And the blind man in question clearly tweaked the system accordingly to produce today’s great result - a result built on the defensive resilience of a more compact version of the system.

My question would be can we replicate that again and again?

Just back & very happy with that. We're still a bit disjointed but individually they all battled for the team & earned the result.

Santos & Jonnson were rock solid, Vic & Charles ran their defenders ragged & Collins & McAtee took advantage nicely, but most improved & MOTM to Schon, not perfect, but tenacious in defence  & got forward more, hopefully he's getting the hang of the wing back role now.

& 12-30 kick offs are crap, flat, like a Sunday game.

Ballsy move from Evatt to change tactics and try and win the game without much of the ball.

I think it was just that we realised yesterday's opponents typically like to dominate possession but don't have the quality to make it count

First 15 I thought we started really well and the last 15 we finished well.

unlucky hitting the bar and why did the ref blow for halftime just as we were about to shoot?

they had a lot of the ball without hurting us.

3 points, clean sheet, great sausage rolls and a great day.

see you Tuesday

This is the type of pragmatism we've often sadly lacked. I hope it's a sign of things to come.

Sometimes there's not a huge amount of adaptation required to factor in the nature of the opposition. Other times you need quite a few one-off tactical moves.

Big Sam was the master of this. One of the first times I noticed that was when he put Robbie Elliott and Paul Warhurst together in central midfield against Villa in the FA Cup Semi Final. The Prem side simply couldn't dominate the middle of the park against the Championship club. Allardyce interview bingo always included the word "nullify".

I hope Evatt can add this very significant string to his bow.

Taken his ball home the baby

He should acknowledge the fans, and something doesn't seem right.

Maybe he is annoyed about the captaincy, but he played well by most accounts, so is doing his job.

Maybe some of the shit he's been getting has taken its toll, and he's a pissed off with it.

If that makes him a baby, then what does that say about those faceless pricks that's seek to abuse him?

By all means discuss players' performances, but leave the personal stuff out.

Great result. Funny game though. Thought we started really well and then they dominated possession for long periods. But we could easily have scored 5 and they never really created much.

Very happy with another 3 points.

Come On You Whites!!!
