gonzo Posted October 23 Posted October 23 They smashed Blackpool last night. This match could do more damage to Evatt than last night. We need a big performance. Quote

Hopefully they have the Russell Martin philosophy. We can beat these types. If they come for a scrap then it could get messy Quote

We need a big performance. These Peterborough, Stevenage and Stockport games are where it’s at for me now. Any slip ups here and I think my mind will be irreversibly made up. I wobbled after Huddersfield, gave credit where it was due since and called last night out for what it was. I’m still just about, by the skin of a gnats bollock, hanging on in hope. Quote
Marc505 Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Don't think it would change anyone's overall opinion wherever they're currently at, but it has to be a win. Quote
Whitestar Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Whatever happened to "Nasty Old Bolton"? Just playing BWFC should conjure up thoughts of hard tough tackling players and players that are maybe not world beaters but will die for the team, no sign of that anymore. Sad really. Quote

barrycowdrill Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Team with the highest amount of goals scored and conceded v’s a team who have conceded 2 or more in 9 of their last 17 games 1-1 Quote
thebells Posted October 23 Posted October 23 With the Cup game next weekend, this and Stevenage are big now for Evatt. He needs 4 points (and ideally 3 of them in the home game), but he also needs to play his system with his best players. If he tinkers again, the cynic in me will think he's angling to be pushed! Gut feel - we lose on Saturday. Likely a few goals and I expect us to score - probably similar to the Reading game. IF we lose, I really don't know where we go from there! Quote
Didledee Posted October 23 Posted October 23 (edited) 0 - something, it'll take something we hardly see v a good team, drew vs them last season with 10 men for the majority, but we are miles worse now, wonder if we'll see a scared lineup with Arfield starting again, 'cos he offers absolutely nothing. auckland_bwfc Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Noticed a lot of pockets of empty seats in ESL against Burton, I've a feeling we may see a similar pattern Saturday.... 20000 announced. 14000 actually through the door. Quote
Hoppy Posted October 23 Posted October 23 We are still in this, some teams above us have played one or two games more we are two points out of the play off zone but we need to get things right and straight away, got to start getting the 2 points average between now and Christmas then look at Jan transfer window to push on Quote

A new regime would have 6 months and some points on the board to get something out of the season which I think would be feasible. The worst scenario is limping to that point or beyond and keep hoping Evatt will sort it out. I want one of 2 extremes: Evatt to miraculously turn it around. Or a change before December Quote
Traf Posted October 23 Posted October 23 If he's still here in December and we're not close to the top six, there's no way he's getting any more money to spend in January. Quote
tomski Posted October 23 Posted October 23 I think if people believe he will turn it around then that’s one thing. If you don’t then I fail to see what we are waiting for. He’s not new in. 1) scenario is the only scenario i and we all want and that’s to win games and get promoted. The next question which is separate is do we believe the best chance is with IE or someone else? Quote

Missus mentioned going Alton Towers on Saturday. Said I’m at the match. Right now though, it definitely sounds more enjoyable; feeling rather disillusioned with it all atm. Quote

The next question which is separate is do we believe the best chance is with IE or someone else? Last bit is the quandary: a new manager may give us a better chance, but they've got to hope that man is available or wants to come. You'd hope the assessments and quiet checks would prove fruitful. Getting shut without checking could be worse. Could be left floundering and scrabbling around for someone who almost suits the brief. Can't officially approach someone whilst Evatt is still in post, so some challenging work to do. I agree though over the timing of the decision: if they're coming to the conclusion that he's not going to succeed (or at least not in the required time frame) then it would make sense to do so sooner rather than later.
