Don't get me going about dentists... I need a repair (filling) to a couple of teeth, I know i will have to pay but they all want me to subscribe to their "dental health plans" and see their hygienist etc. etc.

Just say no then

They can't make you

I've never understood why dentistry isn't part of the NHS anyway.

It's like having a separate system of private health care for any leg issues.

Teeth are part of your body like any other part.

I'm going to set my own mammogram business up.

£10 per breast.

Then I’m going to be a Gynaecologist. I’m no expert but I’ll have a good look.

Not sure you’ll pass the sniff test.

Can’t wait to hear how that goes. Root canal work will be interesting.

Lansley reforms actually wanted this around 2011-13 & called it "Any Willing Provider" quickly backtracked and called it "Any Qualified Provider."

Sounds like summert off Brass Eye but was real.

It'll be like wallpapering your hall through the letter box

So, £40bn raised. Anyone here unhappy with their lot?

Mimimum wage up. Carer’s allowance up. Income tax band thresholds to start increasing again at the end of the Tories’ freeze (to end the fiscal drag). Pensions up 4.1%. File duty frozen. A fraction off pints at the match. No increase in CGT on residential property. Inheritance tax threshold frozen for 2 more years.

NI going up for employers is the big one, but there is an increase in employment allowance.

£22bn to be spent on NHS. £7bn of spending on schools. Transpenine train upgrades. £500m extra for affordable homes. Compensation for wrongly convicted post office staff and infected blood victims.

Losers seems to be non-doms, oil and gas companies, those buying second homes, those flying in private jets, those sending kids to private schools and those selling shares.

Maybe this budget was more defining for Rishi than the ones he gave as chancellor… 😁

All things considered and after only a cursory glance, I think she's done well.

Whoever did the budget would have to address the elephant in the room of the fiscal shortfall.
Tackle it head on and there's every chance we're in a healthier position in 3 years time.

Well, finding an extra £600 quid per person for our NI is a bugger, but needs must considering what a shocking mess it all was - and not going back to Osbourne Austerity.

Taking comfort that Child Benefit is not going on household income (household income is fairer though - I do admit that)

overall its quite the dramatic budget - and in all honesty until the economic boffins have gone through and also read through I can only really go on what direct impacts me, however its a long shot bet on growth.

Feel free to put a few pence in a charity box next time you go to a game, if you’d rather not have the money off. 👍

Carers allowance going up is the only bit I care about, more money for gig tickets and beer for me. I'm sure the other things will affect me in some way but that's for another day

With minimum wage going up do you really think you’re going to see a penny off? 👍

I didn’t say it would be cheaper. It will be a penny off the rate it would otherwise have been without the cut in duty.

You could have said those on minimum wage will have an extra £30 a week (if working 37.5hrs a week) to spend on the pints.
