We grew a number of different types of beans this year, and I picked and ate some yesterday in a sausage casserole. They're all fine, as are broad beans. The butter ones though have a shite, mushy, and fibrous texture and are wank. Quote
MancWanderer Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Pork, butter beans, chorizo, leeks in a tomato sauce with herbs and spices in a stew. Served with crispy baguette for a good wipe up. Thank me later for the butter beans recommendation Quote
Members bolty58 Posted November 1 Members Posted November 1 The main point though? Hot Pot made with bacon or lamb neck chops? The latter leaves the former for dead. Quote

Not in Crawley Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Love butter beans - great in French style stuff with garlic and lemon or more med/north African food. Good substitute for meat as a veggie dish. Tasty and filling. Quote

Butter beans though, compost the bastards and use the tin as a plant pot. Quote
