Service stations are prime candidates for people not paying attention and going back the way they came , but I’ve also seen people trying to turn onto exit slips all over the place , just lack of attention or listening to sat nav’s saying take next left , when it means the next legal left or left in 300 yds or whatever

gator teeth barriers the only way to stop it but the number of incidents don’t justify it but service stations should be made to install them imo

Would a simple warning sign that detects a car and displays "you're going the wrong fucking way" not be easier?

They use them for speed warnings.

Northbound M6 is usually decent after the Preston area M55 interchange, however there was a recent head on with someone on the wrong carriageway and i myself witnessed an oldish geezer in shirt & tie driving a Volvo estate south on the northbound carriageway, hugging the central barrier.

Luckily it was a bright day and reasonable quiet.

Is there an awkward or confusing junction somewhere up that way??.

Yes 39 i think

off some kind of shit

They have them but people ask “ how does it know where I’m going” 😄

no entry signs should suffice but don’t so physical measures the only way to guarantee

Bad again today on M6

Left Stirling at 1.30. Sat Nav says home at 5.30. Aye OK I’ll take that as 6.00/6.15 due to rush hour. Had to come off at Kendal and go all the way past Settle to come back on myself getting home at 7.30. Fuck knows what was happening on the M6 south but it was a 90 min delay past Lancaster so avoided

Spend my life on the motorways. Hate travelling south. Love heading north. Been horrific last few weeks northbound on M6 and A1(M)
