If this was being played in my garden, I’d shut the blinds

I'd actually drive to Lincoln and spend the night there to get away from it :D

Nailed on win this. Evatt really wants to get to Wembley again.

Hopefully not with us

Is it wrong that I wouldn't be arsed if we lost this?

No.

I've willed us to lose every game in this tinpot cup last season and this, basing that on 1. I disagree with it because there are too many games and they allow kids teams in it and 2. I thought it would give IE an excuse for failure in the league due to fixture congestion and/or resultant injuries, and generally taking our eye off the league once it gets to the semi final and beyond.

But now that the league is no longer a target, while IE is here, fixture congestion isn't a concern.  In fact it could speed up his departure if it results in finishing lower down the league.

So I don't know what I want from this now, if we could have a new manager before April I'd be up for another Wembley trip.  If he's still here, it just puts more false gloss on his BWFC CV through beating reserve and kids teams.

I'd quite like us to go and win the competition.

League's gone, so why not.

Doubt we'd take as many as before, but a choir of 20 odd thousand singing "backwards and sideways.." would be quite the spectacle.

Because it would probably keep him here for next season.

Don't get me wrong, if folk want the Wembley day out I totally get that, I'm just focused on whatever it takes to make his position as untenable as possible (other than a relegation battle obviously).

Hmm.

Not so sure about that- bordering on wanting us to lose.

As we've seen, he isn't going even when losing.

As I keep referring to, Sharon spoke about the same aim, which is obviously promotion.

Even if we won the trophy, I don't think they would take the risk if we finished the league in obscurity.

Just in limbo at the moment; can never want us to lose, and trying to reconcile each defeat and shit performance with him probably getting the chop, just yields nothing.

Simply, it's shat.

Got a bad feeling we'll win the whole thing and spend the summer hearing from him how with two EFL trophies he's the second most decorated manager in our history and we must drive the standards we show in the cup into the league if we are too get out of league one, and the when he doesn't think we can, he will have that conversation

Say we do go on and win this, (may as well give it a go as was said fixture pile up isnt a concern as this season has gone) its a trophy , a win at Wembley , more money in the coffers etc.  ...

It restores some pride , partially rescues a disappointing season , brings back some of that feel good factor, lifts the players etc

Would anyone begrudgingly give Evatt another season with the idea that it could be a springboard , kind of like the opposite of the Oxford defeat which we still havent recovered from ?

I could never want us to lose but I really don't want them to get to Wembley in this. I reckon It'd be our 2nd lowest ever following there, not the joyous pre match atmosphere of previous visits and I'd be half tempted to give it a miss too.
