To save me going though other thread.

Was he injured ? Looked a yard off pace in first half. (Although to fair put him still a yard ahead of the 2 GJs.

Think Evatt said he's been carrying an injury for a few games

nope, said he has an issue.. not injury...

unsure if choice of words or Evatt trying to cover up something if he's hoping to sell him.

Maybe the issue was the Mon talking about the issue.

Monk got his tactics right (Kachunga probably chipped in)... make a quick start and pressure the big defender lad and he'll panic...

Why did he then play him in that stupid cup at Lincoln on Tuesday? Surely if he’s carrying an injury and requires managing it then he shouldn’t have been playing that game - especially with a Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday sequence of league games after it.

We were playing someone with a broken back last season. Probably best not expecting much in the way of common sense in that area :D

I don't know, Dennis

So why the hell play him, when Forrester is more than a capable replacement.

Said it on another thread. I don’t know who makes the final call, but our medical staff make/don’t prevent some (objectively) suicidal decisions with players playing on through injuries when we have alternatives. It comes back to bite us in the arse.

Compare the way of managing injuries and fitness under Sam's time to this current shambles. Chalk and cheese - and Sam's time was 20 years ago, there'll have been advances since then. There's just no excuses.

Of course it doesn't help when we keep signing players who have a clear injury ridden track record.

Anyway, Santos. Not mentally strong enough or consistently good enough for the Championship. If he was there'd have been clubs in for him. Like in so many other areas it is time for the club to move on from this "project" and its components.

So I read this and think maybe because he's telling porkies

And then I see this and remember no, he's just a bit thick.

How many times have we lost key players for a number of games by starting them injured (Rico, Sheehan and Toal just now).

I don't buy this, well they had to play, argument.

Ww really don't help ourselves, do we ?

Good job he played every minute of the EFL trophy game on Tuesday

does anyone know what an overload injury that isn't muscular actually means?

Why haven’t we given Inwood another chance, he looked decent in the one opportunity he’s been given? Left footed too so every bit what we need. Surely if Santos hasn’t been fit Forester should have stepped in and Inwood could have been backup on the bench. We never seem to integrate our young prospects actually into the side. Anybody seen anything of Sharples-Ahmed since he was given a first team spot? No me neither.

No injury... I was sitting in the stand behind the dug outs on Tuesday... Evatt was shouting himself hoarse at Santos, you don't do that if you know he's not firing on all cylinders.

Santos got behind the curve, was having a poor game and got subbed yesterday... that's all there is to it in my book

The lad wants away, that’s been clear to see for months. I don’t think he’s intentionally trying to play badly, just that his heart isn’t in it any more and maybe he sees now as a chance to get moved on, probably down South nearer to home. If that’s the case I wish him well because he has been a stalwart for us in the past.

Maybe? Time will tell

Agree he has been, and still is, an asset to the team

“Overuse injuries are sports-related microtraumas that result from repetitively using the same parts of the body, usually by overtraining”

Overtraining seems unlikely given the rumours (plus they will only be training two days a week at the minute anyway when we’ve got midweek games), so I’d suggest playing 90 minutes at Lincoln might not have been the brightest thing.

he bottled it

I need to see the second back but was he trying to back heel it away or summut?

Just seen the highlights. Fuck knows what he was trying to do but looked like an oil tanker doing a 3 point turn. Woeful
