Next Manager

...and so it begins.

The lunatics are out in force already.

Sean Dyche or John McGinlay my favourites so far :D

Really hope it works out for him.

  • We don't need a sentimental appointment here to put a fire out. Like said above, we are fully loaded and ready to go. It's actually a dream job for someone. Sqaud full of talent ✅️ Dece

Do for me

Do for me too if he gets us up la.

Excellent interview like what he’s saying looking forward to the rest of the season.

Finish the kebab . Need some time to reload tho.

Badly packed?

Buzzing after that interview.

A feeling we will end up third now.

Just saw the interview and he comes across really well, love his views on how to play and he just seems really likable as well.

First target would be get in the playoffs, then consolidate that position, then look to kick on to 3rd or 4th for the home leg advantage, if he can do that and entertain then that's a success. Top 2 is just too far away.

Not sure I've come to terms with the Wanderers boss being a decade younger than me.

Is there any other kind ?

He had me at the squad is capable of playing various styles and systems - showing adaptability in approach for specific games and situations - and less dogma/blind faith than Ian. Hopefully he really has the nous to go with it.
I have no idea how he’ll work out, but he talks a good game.

Let’s hope it’s as good as it seems.

I have kids older than him and play footie with kids half his age. it’s not about age, it’s about nous. Hopefully he has it in spades.

It was more about my personal vanity than his experience, he has plenty.

Hopefully he’ll come good for us and use the squad in whatever way he needs to get results.

He had a twinkle in his eye when signings were mentioned so that will be interesting. Mind you he had a twinkle in his eye throughout the interview so I’ll try not to read too much into it although I hope he has a clear plan in mind.

Certainly seems to be under no illusion that promotion this season is what’s expected. Brave man to take us on.

Best appointment we could have made, well done to the board for pulling it off. O’Neil & Wagner have managed in the prem but we’re in league one… Schumacher knows what it’s all about & has already conquered it fairly recently as well. If we do miss out on promotion this season he'll know what he needs in the summer to finish the job for the next & will be settled in nicely by then. Another thing is he if he does do well for us he may be not so quick to jump ship like he did Argyle having already been ruthlessly burned by Stoke

Of all the candidates available, I'd have been most disappointed if we'd missed out on SS and he'd gone somewhere else. Feels like a bit of a coup this and is the right move for both parties.

Possibly not worth eating. I've been lucky enough not to come across (fnaar, fnaar) a badly packed one which hasn't been.

I’ve no doubt this is the truth, and he will prove to be far more adaptable than Evatt (not hard), but I can’t help think that’s a planted / scripted comment that he made sure he specifically referred to.

Either he’s been clever enough to pick up on some of the fans’ biggest annoyances with Evatt or the club have given him pointers as to what would make a great first impression (I reckon the former) - otherwise it just seems a bit coincidental that he refers to adaptability within 10 mins of speaking to the fans.

Looking forward to seeing it and a bit of pragmatism in the dugout!

Must admit I'm warming to the idea of switching the floodlights on to herald a major announcement.

Jim Ratcliffe wouldn’t have done this at United, the cheap bastard

I'd think the former too, impression I got was him being pretty canny, having watched things unfold, read a lot, heard a lot and been well prepared for his discussions with Sharon et al when the call came. He's also had chance to tap into the bit of positivity of the players showing in JD's two games that they could do things at least a bit differently. If nothing else it'll give the players a bit of confidence that he doesn't see them all as one trick ponies but does see them having a good degree of football intelligence

Got to say I think gonzo deserves recognition for being the bestest trawler in the past couple of days.

Close thread please mods.

It’s almost like his passion for lurking, secretly in the shadows like a deviant was cut out for this kind of job. Amongst others..

I think part of this is harking back to when we used to leave Gardner or Ricketts up on the half way line when defending corners and we scored a few times from it .

Not so much the scoring from it, though that's always nice, but someone to receive or challenge for a cleared ball. To reduce the likelihood of a clearance simply coming straight back in. Reduce pressure & potentially build something ourselves.

11 back Inevitably means no relief. It's just not good.

Now, about those 11 then not marking up ... a quite different matter.
