...and so it begins.

The lunatics are out in force already.

Sean Dyche or John McGinlay my favourites so far :D

Really hope it works out for him.

  • We don't need a sentimental appointment here to put a fire out. Like said above, we are fully loaded and ready to go. It's actually a dream job for someone. Sqaud full of talent ✅️ Dece

No stupid arrogant comment, no prophecy, nothing that will be stuck up on our opponent’s wall before every game.

Just straight talking, passionate and the ability to keep things simplistic.

Already gives the impression that you’d find him much easier to work for, understand and properly buy into. Hope that proves to be the case!

SSSWA!

Fast. I like fast.

I hope never again to see multiple passes between back 5 & keeper for 2, 3 minutes at a time multiple times per match while the opposition set 11 back.

Never ... again.

Oh, & possession at 78% ... 69% of which is in our own half between the back line.

Not true.

Add ....do not want to see all 11 back at corners, backward passes when we have a free kick on the half way line . All 11 players running off at half time.  Plus players in form keeping the shirts and we will soon be going up that league

Brilliant that.

And what a contrast.

Even in the early days, Evatt came across as quite flat. By this season it felt like he'd suck all the energy out of the room.

This mon feels the total opposite. Getting almost Stu Holden energy vibes off him.

Love it.

A very good point about the difference in energy

Speaks well, good record can’t wait for Saturday

As much as I hate that tactic, I've come to accept that everyone does it, so I'll temper my frustration when we (probably) continue with it.  If we could have 11 back actually marking players, that would be a decent compromise.

But this isn't a plea for him to do things as we'd want them done, I trust him to get more right than wrong which will represent a big improvement.

No.1 improvement is that as said above he isn't going to be giving the opposition's team talk with ridiculous boasting.  Bring it on.

Forwards to play the full match, no scheduled subs at 70 minutes, subs at half time (or earlier) if something isn’t working or someone is having a shocker.

I’m sure there’s more. We could have a thread on this!

I think part of this is harking back to when we used to leave Gardner or Ricketts up on the half way line when defending corners and we scored a few times from it .

Excellent appointment

We agree .

I suggest everyone checks the horizon for 4 dark horsemen , the sky for a blood red moon and prepare for 3 minute warning sirens.

Suspect this is about as universally positive a reaction as we've ever had for a new manager.

I always thought it was 4 minutes?

How the fuck are we supposed to cope with 3 minutes.

Robbing bastards.

I could have sex 3 times during that .

Great appointment. He will continue in the theme of JD. He sounds adaptable to formation. Don’t think he even needs to make new signings . Would love JD to step up from the under 18s.

Glad it's him and it's been sorted. Liked what he had to say and how he said it. I think he'll do all right for us.

Darby deserves massive credit along with Tutte and Taylor for the last few days and as a result Schumacher inherits a significantly better position than he would have. However I think SS needs to have a free rein to bring in and recruit his own back room staff. If he thinks JD can play a part , especially in the short term, fair enough but pretty sure longer term that role will be minimal.

What would you do for the other 2 minutes?

Not pre-ordanined, like for like, substitutions would be good.

According to historical Cold War information, a "four-minute warning" was often cited as the potential timeframe before a nuclear attack, referring to the estimated time it would take for an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) to reach its target once detected, though this system is no longer actively used today; in reality, the exact warning time could be significantly less depending on the launch location and technology involved.

Wouldve been my choice once evatt went

Evatt had to get us promoted this year for it to be deemed a success, owt less would have been failure

Initial target and very achievable for SS is play offs

Should be well within us and if we fail, promotion next year

Wonder if he might go for Cosgrove?
