Only the most wealthy fans in the world will be at this world cup supporting their team. Doesnt scream fun to me.  If England get to the final, i'd genuinely rather be in england than at the game

  • If it wasn't for my lads I wouldn't want us anywhere near the premier league.

£3k for an RV for 3 weeks 🤔

I think loads have had the same idea. We were going to do this until Spain 2030 was announced. Spain a much cheaper and convenient proposition for us so binned the idea of 2026.

I'll be in Wisconsin after it's all finished. The family I will be staying with had advised us to try hiring a Winnebago in an 'off the beaten track' location rather than a big city or anywhere near any of the WC locations. They reckoned we would save a fortune. Didn't go ahead with it so can't confirm or otherwise.

Sounds great the RV idea

It is but you need somewhere to park up and hook up that is secure and they will be at a premium.

I would be with you but for having had a heavy early bet on Brazil to win the World Cup at 5/1. You can imagine the scene in my house at the climax of that penalty shoot out.

Me dancing around the room at the new found wealth; the missus throwing an aubergine (mulignana in dialetto Napoletana) at me over the breakfast bar :D

BTW I'll be backing Brazil and Argentina again to win it in the Americas.

Brazil battered last night

Not guaranteed to make the world cup as it stands, although I suspect they will

The fact that the top 6 teams out of 10 qualify automatically, and the 7th place team going into a play off against some shitty team ensures they will qualify, but they are fucking rubbish at the minute.

The next WC will have 48 teams in it, which seems a lot. When England won it only 16 teams were involved in the tournament

yep, it'll be like the first few rounds of the fa cup, absolute dross

Hoping we get group games in Canada, think I can convince my missus that would be worth doing.

Aye, as usual I have backed the other South American giant too for any WC played in the Americas so not panicking yet.

Local TAB down here were offering 3/1 for both teams to score last night and Argentina to win or draw as the result. Needless to say I had the last tim tam.

Vancouver, British Columbia. Perfect.

Just watched the entire thing. The usual fabulous atmosphere, Raphinha lit the fuse before the game and the predictable melee eventually arrived :D Argentina were wonderful overall but one thing which stood out for me.

Brazils goal. I was only listening to a so called pundit yesterday saying that Atletico Madrid were redoubling their efforts to sign Romero from Tottenham. "One of the best five central defenders in the world". After watching that goal I think I'd rather have Gerald Cid!

Argie football is the best to watch no matter what they say about the PL. The passion of the fans ratchets the whole thing up a good few notches. Got to get there one day. La Bombonera then a visit to Estudiantes De La Plata to deliver my personal thanks for 1968.

Must've changed the rules, it used to be winner in Oceania faced the play off team from South America. It's why Straya moved to play in Asia.

Eye watering prices. Can’t say it’s a surprise though. Hope it backfires and stadia are half empty tbh. Won’t be helped with visa situation for many countries. Plus the risk of getting locked up / deported /shot etc.

Some KOs are  6 0r 8 pm

so depending on which coast

could be 1am or 4am  For us

I hope the matches in Canada and Mexico are a roaring success

Stadiums will be full. Don't worry about that.

I normally book a week (or two) off work early in a World Cup so I can catch as many matches as possible. No point with this one. I'll probably be watching in bed for most of it. I'll get some stamina training in when the Ashes start in November.

Bout time you twats had some early hours kick offs 🙂

It has to be an upgrade on Qatar. Football wise was good and I think we saw the benefit of a midseason tournament.

That said it just wasn’t the same.
