Only the most wealthy fans in the world will be at this world cup supporting their team. Doesnt scream fun to me.  If England get to the final, i'd genuinely rather be in england than at the game

  • If it wasn't for my lads I wouldn't want us anywhere near the premier league.

Long ball big boot football then .... As Brian Clough once said ....

"If God had wanted us to play football in the clouds, he'd have put grass up there." This iconic line was a criticism of long-ball tactics and a defence of his preference for playing football on the ground.

Cloughie was ahead of his time

Beyond this. He was ahead of everything football wise. Tactics, formations, mind games. Pure genius as far as the game was concerned.

Bent cunts 🤣

On the face of it a joke decision and one rule for a superstar and one for everyone else.

BUT that rule is ridiculous in the first place.  Looking at that Everton sending off as an eg, if that was Kane having an argument with Bellingham and they both got red cards and missed 3 W/C games, to say the punishment doesn't fit the crime is an understatement.

For a non-guarantee-starter eg Watkins or Anderson, that could mean not making the squad at all, why would you take someone who might not be available.  Its potentially putting someone's one and only appearance at a World Cup in the hands of a ref making a mistake in a qualifier.

We want Ronaldo to play in the tournament.

Yeah but hes banned for the first couple of games after being sent off straight red.

Suspend the ban then.

Good idea, done.

Haha only just saw your post @deane koontz (I've got an excuse, been staring at freaks in A&E for 7 hours) crooked as owt.

How much has he slipped those making the decision?

Bent.

THIS

Infantino & his cronies are just a development from Blatter & Platini. Ronaldo being given such clear favourable treatment is outrageous but sadly predictable.

Thankfully Ronaldo is a shadow of his former self and the only one who doesn't see it is Ronaldo himself. Poncing around the pitch throwing cobblers & sulks, demanding he takes every free kick despite not having scored from one this century. Daring his managers to not pick him or to substitute him, falling out with teammates & cutting dead any journalist who dares comment against hi......

(Where's he gone ? Dunno. But he was criticising Ronaldo when he disappea...)

A joke of a decision

But one that will only make Portugal worse. They’re better without him, or bringing him on at 75/80 mins if needed.

But nobody in Portuguese football has the balls to drop him.

We’ll see him crying either way as the WC he’s so desperate for slips away. Probably by the second round, even better if it happens in the groups.

With Bobby Martinez at the wheel, everyone else is in safe hands

Don't fret. It'll be you.

It's laughable that Ronaldo has had his red card suspended. It's so bent.

One of those impossible to prove either way situations.

He shouldn't be there, but in terms of it being a help or a hindrance, simply couldn't give a fuck.

England, Senegal, Norway, Italy all in a group together a possibility then.

Not sure I’d fancy our chances to get out of that if I’m honest 🤔

Can you not get through in 3rd place with a point in this tournament? 😂

8 of the 12 third place teams go through to the next round.

So as well as splitting up more big teams in the group stage it's even easier to get through. So crap

Gonna a shocking world cup this

World Cup is going down the same route as the FA Cup.

Being diluted so much that it loses its credibility.

Sad really.

3 European teams in a group? That's shite.

Quote

There can be no more than one team from the same confederation per group. So, for instance, Brazil and Uruguay (Conmebol) cannot be in the same group, nor can Panama and the United States (Concacaf).

There is an exception for Uefa because there are 16 teams and only 12 groups. That means four groups will contain two European nations.

Looks like I was wrong though, but us Senegal, Ivory Coast and Italy would also be a tricky group.

I think an African team could win it this time. Morocco should have at least got to the final in Qatar.

Can't have 2 African teams in same group....
