Happy to offer 1 point more than any bookie for any African country you care to select. No doubt it will happen sooner or later but I just don't see it happening in 2026. Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Spain. I've named the 2026 winner in that half a dozen. Don't need to be Nostradamus mind.

Ronaldo himself wouldn't be "slipping" anybody at either UEFA or Fifa anything, but they're "flexing" the rules to make sure that one of the most famous and highest profile footballers ever is at the tournament so they can maximise the advertising and commercial benefits he'll bring to proceedings. I'm not sure he'll contribute a vast amount as a player, but like Messi, his face will be all over the place. And imagine the wankfest if they play against each other.
