Didn't we play them on 2 consecutive Saturday's, in the league then in the cup, we parked on a side street for both games and it was tasty as fuck before and after, I remember one away trip to Burnley, probably mid to late 70's and the Son Of Sam killer had just been caught in America, hence Bolton fans singing, "Son of Sam was a Bolton Fan" Quote

The following week, there were less Bolton fans but nearly all lads & Burnley got twatted all over. Their book doesn't talk about that game so much !! Quote

Was the first game when Felgate cleared a ball with over head kick ? We went to both games but from Bradford so had to find our way back to a different station (Manchester Road) after the first game. The fighting on the way off started on the cricket pitches, police horses charging up and down side streets. We had no idea how to get to station, then suddenly my dad turned up , he had driven and was disabled so parked right by ground. Saved the two of us a very moody walk to the station. Quote

I remember against Burnley at home, pretty much a whole canteen of cutlery made it's way over the fence, knives, forks and spoons, the lot. How the fuck they made it into the ground I'll never know. I think I also remember some darts flying to and fro (although I may have dreamt that....) Quote
Wullie Posted March 20 Posted March 20 I used to collect all the news clippings, they are in the attic somewhere i think Quote

Looked for all the world a goal, but he ran back and improvised brilliantly. Pity there doesn't seem to be any footage. If a prem keeper did that now, you'd have pundits drowning in pools of their own spunk. Quote

Burnley Manchester Road station is a deceptively long walk from the ground when it's a bit moody after a game, seems a lot longer than a mile. Quote
