2-3 weeks turned into 2-3 hours what a shit day.

If anyone suggests that they would like people to be there for their final moments tell them it is the shittest idea ever.

Really sorry to hear 😥. I was there for my mum's last three days, it was really tough

My 102 yr old nan was sent home from hospital last Friday to see out her last days at home.

She's not ill or unwell, she's not in pain, she's just dying.
She's old and her batteries are running out.
I've spent a couple of hours each day just sitting with her, holding her hand and chatting in between her naps, as have other family members.

Hope shes as peaceful as can be pal.

What a superb innings 👏

Thanks again for the thoughtful words. He was in such pain it is honestly a relief but watching it happen was awful.

@Traf hope your nan is comfortable and peaceful

Thanks, mate.
I can't even begin to imagine how difficult your experience has been and my thoughts are with you and your family.

I was lucky enough to be holding my mums hand as she breathed her last.

If we’re honest, I think that’s how we’d all want it to be. I even took a picture which I had mixed feelings about at the time but in hindsight I’m glad I did. It’s a memory I cherish now.

sorry for you loss Ani x

I've got pics of my folks holding hands as my dad entered his last days/hours

Neither of them knew

But that's ok as the picture was for me

My Nana passed peacefully at home this morning exactly two weeks shy of her 103rd birthday.

She went out on her own terms, at home with a minimal amount of fuss.
She wasn't ill and wasn't in pain, her body finally gave up and now she's at peace.

Thank you all for your kind words and support.

Chris x

Sorry for your loss,

Aye, condolences.

A life to celebrate.

Incredible to think she was around (very small) when we won the first cup final at Wembley.

WW2, moon landings, Woodstock, cold war, heart transplants, test tube babies, mobile phones, concord, myriad music influences, etc.

And wanderers in Europe.

RIP.

My step daughters boy friend did the Leeds half marathon today to raise money for the hospice that cared for him.

Then we went the pub

Fair to say this was a much better Sunday than last week. Never been to a city marathon before but it was brilliant.

A great innings, no doubt a very long life very well lived, she must have seen so much and had so many stories to tell. RIP 🙏

Mrs Fogarty has been in Salford Royal since yesterday with a small bleed on her brain and a minor stroke and I’d have been absolutely lost without our daughter.

A couple of weeks ago we had a fall out over a car.
Makes you think.

Thanks Gonzo. She seems to be doing ok. Her legs are a bit wobbly but I’ve had two bollocking today so hopefully she’s on the mend.

If she’s dishing out the bollockings it sounds like business as usual, hope all is well mate
