If anyone suggests that they would like people to be there for their final moments tell them it is the shittest idea ever. Really sorry to hear 😥. I was there for my mum's last three days, it was really tough Quote
Popular Post Traf Posted May 6 Popular Post Posted May 6 My 102 yr old nan was sent home from hospital last Friday to see out her last days at home. She's not ill or unwell, she's not in pain, she's just dying. She's old and her batteries are running out. I've spent a couple of hours each day just sitting with her, holding her hand and chatting in between her naps, as have other family members. Quote

Spider Posted May 9 Posted May 9 I was lucky enough to be holding my mums hand as she breathed her last. If we’re honest, I think that’s how we’d all want it to be. I even took a picture which I had mixed feelings about at the time but in hindsight I’m glad I did. It’s a memory I cherish now. sorry for you loss Ani x Quote

My Nana passed peacefully at home this morning exactly two weeks shy of her 103rd birthday. She went out on her own terms, at home with a minimal amount of fuss. She wasn't ill and wasn't in pain, her body finally gave up and now she's at peace. Thank you all for your kind words and support. Chris x Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Aye, condolences. A life to celebrate. Incredible to think she was around (very small) when we won the first cup final at Wembley. WW2, moon landings, Woodstock, cold war, heart transplants, test tube babies, mobile phones, concord, myriad music influences, etc. And wanderers in Europe. RIP. Quote
Ani Posted May 11 Author Posted May 11 My step daughters boy friend did the Leeds half marathon today to raise money for the hospice that cared for him. Then we went the pub Fair to say this was a much better Sunday than last week. Never been to a city marathon before but it was brilliant. Quote

FrancisFogarty Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Mrs Fogarty has been in Salford Royal since yesterday with a small bleed on her brain and a minor stroke and I’d have been absolutely lost without our daughter. A couple of weeks ago we had a fall out over a car. Makes you think. Quote

Popular Post FrancisFogarty Posted May 23 Popular Post Posted May 23 Mrs Fogarty has been released from Salford Royal after her stroke/bleed. Progress has gone really well. Neurosurgeons were happy to hand her over to the stroke team for physio so she’s at home now and back to bollocking me. Quote
