Took me a while to understand what you were saying as am a bit slow today.

in the old days transfers often involved players moving between clubs so we might buu a player from Blackburn and they would get some money and player as part exchange, so would be more likely.

Aye, seem to recall Mark Patterson went to Sheff Utd when we bought Blake

He'd still be our second best striker behind Burstow and we spunked the money we got for him (and then some) on Joel Randall.

Fair to say that move was a disaster all around.

On his form over the last 2 seasons he wouldn't make our bench.

He will be playing non-league within 2-3 seasons

We were his peak.

I've read it several times, and I still don't have a clue what he means.

(Although he's now deleted it, so maybe he didn't know what he meant either!)

St Mirrens goal scorer yesterday played for us last season, whilst ours played for them last season

It's a coincidence that some may see as a quirky stat

Ah, ok. I doubt it's that rare of an occurrence though.

Fair enough.

I think Dempsey and Randall are very different types, Dempsey being energy,  tackling and running and perfect for a more open or direct passage of play, whilst in theory at least, Randall is supposed to use tight control and short passing to unlock a packed defence - but for me he hasn’t quite done it often enough yet and Forss or even McAtee have been better at it.

With Cissoko, I think he is attack minded, but doesn’t do the defensive  side well whereas I’ve noticed eg ACD getting back more and getting tackles in recently. Of the wide men, I think Cissoko is the weakest defensively and I think SS has been asking more of the wide men in that respect - which has coincided with our improved results. When Hudds started playing in the second half we looked far more vulnerable on that side even though the cross for their goal came from our right (but I put that down to Miller going walkabout and it shouldn’t have happened)

As for Cardiff, I reckon our defensive performance for 85 minutes against a very good team was as outstanding as the goal.

Whilst I agree Miller didn’t do well it was Christie who was responsible for the goal, he completely lost his man down their left wing and should have prevented the cross in the first place.

He was outpaced ... but wtf Miller's missed punch was all about is beyond me.

An apocalyptic run of form and he's still scored 9 goals since the start of last season. Dalby has never done that above pub level and probably never will.

Some moves don't work out. It's not like he needs to retire ffs. Same with Randall here.

Really good performance considering it was an XI full of our subs bar ACD & centre back pairing against their main XI who are in desperate need of a win to take some points pressure off the manager. Good to see two lads get a their first goals for the club, hopefully it’ll kickstart them. Great to see Dempsey back, his energy & commitment is infectious.

Indeed.

Take his drive and tenacity away you don't have a player though.

He's lost all that.

He's not a natural finisher, his touch is poor. He just had bags of pace, energy and desire.

All gone at the minute.

Add to the fact Charles never really wanted to go in the first place but ‘external factors’ meant he needed to get away, it’s no wonder it’s not worked out. Bet he’s hated every fucking minute there

Good few opportunities to add to the 92 there.

A fairly high chance of ours being moved for telly with the number of games they show now and us being one of the highest ranked teams left perhaps?
