So if they are good enough and professional enough etc, what happened on Saturday? Seemed more like a step backwards than a step forward with no improvement in sight.

I think you are being disrespectful to Mansfield. They have a proven manager who has turned us over many times and a strong team when fit. Hopefully our lads will give them that respect and play accordingly.

And earning the right to play is bob on. Every game.

They had a bad game, you drama queen.

The idea we need Mansfield to have 8 or 9 players out with injury to go there and win is nonsense. If you think that you might as well write the season off.

We need to turn up and play with the right system and attitude , which was your point 3.

Most of Saturdays team won’t be playing tomorrow. It is gone and forgotten the players who have played as we have caught up after the slow start just need to pick up the away form.

Fuckin hell, do some folks want a written apology from Sharon?

Needs to be wheeled through Bolton town centre on a muck cart and let everyone throw rotten tomatoes at her.

4 defeats in a row and they’ve got about 12 players out. Night game, under 15 degrees, pitch isn’t like a bowling green, we all know what’s happening

they also went to penalties on the weekend too

6 league wins on the bounce will have us on 46 points from 23 games. The well worn saying that an average 2 points per game and we should be champions.

Play offs here we come then.

4 wins on the trot would give us 40 from 21, or 1.9 per game.  That's what Stevenage and Bradford are currently on so I'll take that to be going on with.

As much as Cardiff aren't great, hard to see them not finishing top 2 considering how average the rest are, so them being over 2 points per game doesn't need to concern us.  Anyone else that gets 88 points will be comfortably 2nd IMO.

Just the 60 to go, from 29 games.  After tomorrow 14 at home, 14 away.

I gave more detailed responses to this post match, if I was to go into any more detail I’d end up boring myself. 😂

The combinations were all wrong Saturday.

Play some of those players with different combinations and different players around them you would (and indeed we have this season) get a different result and output.

He was suggesting that a bad game wasn’t possible due to this alleged process of continuous improvement - comprehension not your strongpoint ?

With Storm Bram hitting tomorrow I’d think it unlikely this will be on. Mansfield don’t have the best draining pitch at the best of times and it must be soaking already.

Looking at the forecast it looks like the storm will affect the west of the country, So Mansfield will miss the worst.

Not according to the local forecast over here where it’s forecasting rain 100% from 2am tomorrow morning. I hope you’re right but it’s been wet over here all week so the grounds already wet and I don’t think Field Mill takes rain well anyway. It could be windy though so if it does stop raining maybe that will help? I’m hoping it’s on though if Mansfield’s injury problems are as bad as Cloughie says.

I will be watching tomorrow on TV but I’ve had some eventful days at Mansfield including witness for my mate who got nicked on one visit…. Anyhow my mind wanders back to the late 70s with that fantastic team led by Ian Greaves….. I rocked up with couple of mates at Moor Lane bus station where luxury Hargreaves coaches were waiting to take fans to Mansfield…. On the other side of the bus station were the Ribble coaches basically single decker ramshackle buses  but a a £1 cheaper than Hargreaves and with me still at school and earning only 50p For shopping for one of my elderly neighbours I decided that was 2 weeks work so Ribble coaches it was. Was a long journey don’t think the bus went faster than 40mph…. Anyhow we duly arrived at Field mill Bolton everywhere,  we were herded into the open end behind the goal. It was a tight game only decided by a thunder strike from John Ritson. Spent the journey home dreaming of division 1 and stuffing Man U next season…. Dreams do come true thanks to Frankie Worthy. Happy days.

Excerpt from the Bolton news.

Ritson’s Rocket” proclaimed the Bolton Evening News the day after Wanderers had beaten Mansfield Town 1-0 at Field Mill to inch just a little bit closer to promotion in Division Two.

First Mansfield memory i have is seeing this on the 92/93 season review tape that I watched over and over.

I used to watch this and think wow every time we scored away it went absolutely mental in our end!
