They don't score or concede many. Can see another low block affair and a 1-0 win here.

Possibly. Another tough challenge in the closest league in living memory and every team capable of putting up a helluva fight. Only 6 points between 7th and 19th and Exeter clawing their way out of the relegation zone and close to joining that group having beaten Wimbledon.

Difficult to see us thumping any team this season - and we have the second highest GD in the league!

Glad I don’t back us to win 5 nil every week 😀

What do you consider a thumping we beat Wigan 4-1 Port Vale 4-0 AFC Wimbledon 3-0.

Yeah - they are thumpings just about.

However I didn’t say we won’t thump teams in the future - what I wrote was that I find it “difficult to see us thumping other teams” and I certainly didn’t see I.e. predict those results beforehand - just as I didn’t see Swindon coming.

And I still can’t see which future teams we’re going to thump because they are all competitive on their day in this league.

Point is, we aren’t good enough to confidently predict we’re going to batter anyone this season. But I can hope.

Bingo machine out again I expect Cogley, Sheehan, Cissoko/Gale and ACD to come in for Christie, Simons/Erhahon TuTu and Forss

No complaints if he goes with that apart from its predictable and we will once again come up with a team with a low block and expect pretty much the same as Tuesday

1-0 or 1-1   Gale 18,743

Except Mansfield deployed a low block.

Against a high block, ACD and Gale make perfect sense, to exploit the space in behind. Sheehan also, to find them. Cogley, however, makes no sense, as he’s liable to make more mistakes under pressure from the high block than Christie.

I reckon we'll "thump" exeter

2nd best home record (best on a ppg basis) against the worst away record.

Goal in the first 20 mins and I’d like to think we run away with it - as always though, 3 points any which way will do.

Agree on Cogley but Christie can only do one game a week. Would not bother me to see TuTu start on the right. Want to see Sheehan dictate the game and not Toal and Johnston. Having the two Natural wingers back should make it easier to find space which TuTu and Forss do not find because they simply are not wingers. SS needs to find a way to get Burstow into the game the lad works hard but is cutting a frustrated figure on his own.

As bad as Forss was on Tuesday, I wouldn’t mind seeing him behind Burstow for this one.

Likely to need less midfield cover and Burstow was in his best form when Forss was playing as that 2nd striker.

Id have

JDC or Christie Toal GJ Conway

Sheehan Simons

ACD Forss Gale

Burstow

Rest Erhahon to be back for the away game at Wycombe, given he’s coming back from injury. Maybe the same for Christie as well

It is a minor tweak but I would play Dempsey ahead of Forss but tell Simons and Dempsey to be ‘proper’ up and down midfielders. We do not need a midfield 3 all standing within 5 yards of the back 4.

Exeter's set up going to be similar to Mansfield's on Tuesday.

Hopefully an early goal and a comfortable win to back up the win midweek.

I think getting turned over by these start of last season was the first real crack in Evatt's time here.

3-0 - Burstow, Gale, Sheehan.

Exeter like to keep the ball but surely they wouldn't want to press man for man at our place.

Can't afford to drop points here. As much as I'd love us to give them a thumping I'm not fussed if it's just a goal that wins like the other night. Need to keep ticking wins off consistently now.

Christie looked like he was running in treacle the other night. Max not far off either.

If JDC had had the game CC had there would have been burnings at the stake . Same for Simons and Morley.
Does not mean XS and CC are not better players but they did not look it Tuesday. SS seems happy to play one of the right backs and the other does not make the bench. CC taking all the dead balls is a funny one as he is immediately miles out of position if they do not go well.

I think that is a reflection of the team and system not having been as succesful away from home.

There's just enough ball playing ability with EE and XS together.

Suppose their job the other night was to dig in away from home and break up the attacks in which they did.
