Good job we got all these confidence boosts in previous rounds or we'd really be struggling to win away in the league. (sorry not having a go at you, but we've heard it all before going back years). Zog1 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 New system. Plus I'd blood a couple of the best youths, likeĀ TobyĀ Ritchie, if we go for the dual no10, SS had at Plymouth. Along with letting Cogly back into the team in the wing back positon. Ā Quote

Everyoneās ball is getting a turn in the bingo machine, except Cogleyās. If the player wants out, we need to get him off the payroll, ASAP, and get a replacement in. Quote
Zog1 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Cogley is a good standard League 1 right wing back, but he was never a leading one, and he surely wasn't a right back.Ā If we were going to play with a 4, that right back position has been a pain point all season.Ā Quote

Just playing devil's advocate here coz I don't care what the line up or system is v Port Vale reserves, but if its a new system does our strongest line up mean no ACD (ie no wingers)?Ā That would be a big call if we're talking about repeating the line up at Wigan (which won't happen anyway). Blondi Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Maybe we should just stick to a basic 442 formation for this one, put Gayle and Duberry on the wings to try and cross some balls in for say Dalby and Forss or whoever up front. We've nothing to lose apart from some shitty cup game. Quote

No way, thatās exactly whatās been failing us, SS needs to adapt what heās doing and the two inverted winger thing has been well sussed and needs to change. Fine if you want to change the wingers to their natural foot but please no more of the failed inverted stuff. Quote
Lostock Whites Posted January 13 Posted January 13 (edited) Football is very much like chapters in a book sometimes and just life in general. The happy times, the sad times.Ā When you're going through a rut you need change, we simply have to start doing something different. As awful as it's been recently, I genuinely believe that this crappy game against Port Vale in the tinpot trophy could relaunch our season. Along with some new signings this month. We're all feeling sorry for ourselves, including the players, but there's frigging 21 matches left. We're somehow remarkably still 6th and just 9 points off 2nd. Nothing is done yet. Get some confidence and momentum building again tonight because we have 0 at the moment.Ā 2 huge tough away games to come in league. These players want to play on Championship next season? Well stop stropping, looking down at the floor and feeling sorry for yourselves. Fucking earn it. Edited January 13 by Lostock Whites Quote

Need a win from somewhere, and it would present a half decent chance of getting to Wembley again. That ought to be something the players would want to be involved with, and hopefully boost performance. Quote
