Wycombe Wanderers (H)

Has this been cancelled or something? - can’t see a thread for our next game on Saturday. If there is one please merge.

Anyhoo, it’s a tough one but we’re at home. All of a sudden, they are 2 points off the playoffs and have a game in hand on Huddersfield in 6th so there’s no way they won’t be fired up for this. They’ve been scoring for fun at home this last month, less so away but they have players all over the park that can find the net including Mr Morley, formerly of this parish.

They must be thinking playoffs in which case they need something off us…..but we’re not going to give them anything are we?

Scoring goals so late so regularly isn’t luck. It’s belief in themselves and a reluctance to accept defeat. In part by the fact that opposition are just absolutely fucked at the end and also that neve

Would like to see us stick with 2 up top today so Dalby has support, but I'd also like Dempsey in for a bit of extra fight in midfield. Pretty much everyone is in good form so not too fussed who plays but team I'd pick:

Bonham

Christie, Toal, Forino, Conway

Apter, Dempsey, Erhahon, CBT

Kenny, Dalby

Whether it’s the same side or two/three changes I’m comfortable with either scenario. Don’t think it needs criticising if he goes for either approach.

It wouldn’t be bingo machine mentality to swap Conway for Johnston, or CBT for Gale or bringing in Dempsey.

Although I would prefer Tutu at right back.

I feel whatever side he puts out will be well reasoned based on opposition/tactics/fitness etc.

Think that Quitirna had quite a lot of success against Conway at their place so in happy with GJ continuing at LB. IF CBT is fit id maybe play him on the right and rest apter.

Apter needs to show a lot more, for me.

You can tell he's going to score an important goal eventually. Stick with him.

I would counter that by saying we are miles apart from the team we had before Christmas. New keepers. Cogley gone Firino at last cementing a place in the middle. Erhahon at last fit and first choice in the centre. Wingers who can cross and other wingers stepping up Dalby another who has hit form since Christmas and a secondary striker hopefully more deployed. Then a bench that is the envy of the league.......Unbeaten and not the same team since new year

This we have far better back ups than what we did before Christmas as your back up wingers were Cissoko and Tutu and now they are CBT and Apter.  Dalby now getting the service he needs.  When was the last time anyone ran the midfield that you never noticed I.e does all the shit so Sheehan doesn’t have to.  Erahan does that job so well I have to check he’s still on the pitch.  ACD if he was getting injured did so at the right time when we could replace him in Jan.  I would argue that the two best widemen in league 1 didn’t play last week and we won 5-1 with the back ups scoring

Who is todays ref and is he a cu*t.

Bring back the trifecta.

I'd forgotten we have Rodrigues

With Huddersfield knocking Wycombe out of the top 6 they will be fired up even more. So important that we win today.

Don't think it changes that much, 7th/8th/9th all away and 3rd/4th at home. Good chance to put even more distance between them and not have to worry about it.

Is that not a penalty!!!!

Should have passed that

Greedy fucker. Apter was unmarked

Toal recovered well then, but left his man to go towards the ball

Worrying how much space we’re giving their strikers. Good job Toal is quick.

Wycombe dominating us and so far we have no answers.

Looking piss weak and sloppy so far. Need to wake up sharpish

Giving them loads of space with their long balls. Apter is yet again randallesque

Pfffffff……

Ignore the stats, we are shit at defending.

Should have been 1 up after a minute, but been shite since then. Letting them press us high and we are just chasing the ball and leaving gaps.
