So You Get The Top Job At The Reebok

With all this moaning about the Reebok and it's crowd, let's take a step further.

You have just been appointed the top job at the Reebok that gives you the powers to:

1- Bring the crowds back

2 - Improve catering

3 - Improve traffic flow

4 - Improve bus and rail links

What would you do?

W e have had 2 meetings with Mike, and i know it takes time, but i feel the ball is firmly in the clubs/mikes court, we need to hear some positives to our suggestions otherwise it will be a waste of time.

Exactly Mounts, I am a reasonably commercially aware person, so are you, there are many other people on here with good jobs and business experience too. Not everyone is a gormless rosette wearer.

I know when someone is stringing me along from 15K a year support staff up to 250K a year directors. Over to you BWFC.

as for the premium number

all i know is that the phone lines are antiquated

i THINK that the premium number is a way of managing a larger volume of calls

i'm not defending anybody, just sharing the info

Correct to a certain extent. The way the business used to work and probably still does is that an IVR provider will provide call handling solutions for free or a very low set up cost and recoup their costs via the 0871 number which is classed as a special rate and not premium (i.e. 10p at all times). It saves the club buying their own IVR kit and managing it which is quite a pain. Our number is provider by Opal Telecom and this is their general business model from previous dealings with them.

Still a scandal though :p

The thing is, if I ring it from work (which I do) then it's Gross Misconduct and if Jules was my boss I'd be out on my arse. BWFC are actively encouraging this.

Cheeky!

I can't ring 0845 or 0870, 0871 etc. numbers from site - apart from the fact that ringing them would, in effect, be stealing from my customer.

At the end of the day we will never be a well supported club at this level and its all down to location.

We are only 10/15 miles from Manchester/Liverpool and to a much lesser extent Blackburn and Wigan. We are an un-fashionable club who have spent years outside the top division with the exception of the last few years.

Whatever the club do commercially will not make any difference. The people of Bolton simply have not caught up with the clubs achievements over recent years.

It may change but it will take at least another 10 years or so at least for the kids to come through.

Weak people will always prefer the reflected glory of following the "big" teams, it's just easier for those living in Bolton to get to Old Trafford or Anfield than their equivalents in Somerset or Kent.

hopefully that will come back as a positive

perhaps at the start of next season tickets and ST's could be purchased in th'ultras block meaning those who want the atmosphere are all sat together and the banter and atmosphere carries forwards to the seats and the game itself!

great idea problem is 95% of the reebok crowd want the atmosphere but don`t want to join in

Someone said the devere own the hall and it is used for functions on saturday night.

I tell thee, I'd book it mesel for each and every saturday/sunday game, negotiate reduced prices for bulk, a cut of the takings, open it up to the fans, and I'd be rich within 3 years.

Surley the club can see this opportunity as well.

so when is the th'ultra group starting up then :D =D>
