asked a couple of lads who know the workings of the legal system, and they reckon its going nowhere

not with the main/only? witness not being willing to play ball

It's interesting this one as I know of people having domestics who've rung the police and been told it that if was a domestic, they will not come and have flatly refused to come out. So the watch word is girls, pretend you're being hit by a famous bad boy and you'll be seeing blue lights before you know it.

N.B. I would like to point out I in no way agree with Diouf's actions. It's just an observation.

do you think his missus would change her mind about pressing charges if he wasn't on ??40K per week??

Just a thought?

I don't mnd his antics (bar spitting), as it's great to see away fans getting wound up when he gets the ball. He's becomming rather a tasty player for us now and I do think he'll work well with Anelka..

just wish he'd stop tw??tting his wife with his Senegal player of the year trophy !

Diouf: Charges are dropped

ASSAULT charges against Bolton Wanderers striker El-Hadji Diouf have been dropped.

Diouf was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his wife Valerie at his Lostock home at 6.45am on Sunday, November 5, after officers were called to the address.

The Senegalese international striker, aged 25, was released on police bail after spending nearly 12 hours at Astley Bridge police station.

He was bailed until Wednesday, November 8. He was then re-bailed and was due to appear at the police station today, but the charges against him have now been dropped.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "The 25-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assault on Sunday, November 5 was released without charge on Tuesday this week."

The arrest came the day after Diouf and his Wanderers teammates lost 1-0 to Wigan Athletic in a Lancashire derby at the Reebok Stadium.

Diouf was signed from Liverpool on loan in 2004 and joined the Whites in a permanent deal for ??3.5m a year later.

The striker moved to Lostock from Merseyside earlier this year.
